Dec 06, 2010 23:27:24 So the challenge is make the best character you can with no base classes in the end at level 20 or less. Do it without really questionable rules for the win. Base classes will be defined as classes you can enter at level 1 for now at least. What makes a character "best" is left up to you personally.

To get the juices going here is a build

Human Paladin 5/Mythic Examplar(Dardallion) 3/Shadowbane inguisitor 10/blackguard 5/X2

You start as a Paladin and take power attack and cleave. Spend 6 skill points by 5th level for history and 8 points into religion takes care of mythic. By the time you finish mythic be sure to have 8 points into gather info and sense motive. At this point you take shadowbane inguisitor for 10 levels. As you level you put a few points in hide and improved sunder is dealt with by SI. Since you have 15 effective levels for fallen paladins you use favored of the dark deities to trade all of your paladin levels for blackguard (since you have 10 effective levels due to shaowbane you should get all the other benefits of being a fallen paladin even still). Now you have no levels that are a base class an you still have two levels to play with.

So have fun!

Dec 07, 2010 14:20:40 I was not planning to allow HD since that is too easy (could be considered a "class" you enter at level 1 as well, though perhaps if you did not start with racial HD but got some later may be alright have to see in a case by case basis). Bloodlines may be fine though.

Carnivore that is a nice try but paragon classes are a base class by my definition (a class you can enter at first level it is in my first post) . I put that definition iin there because I thought of racial paragon classes so you caught what I had thought.

ok .... the only thing that i can think of like what you did ... is this:

Samurai 11 ....the trade all but one level in for Ronin Levels ....

otherwise the only other thing similar to what you did with Paladin and Blackguard is this(with DM Fiat)

Druid 10 .... then trade all levels in for Blighter levels ... notice the Adaptation section for Blighter:

Adaptation:In many ways, the blighter is to the druid what the blackguard is to the paladin. While it’s likely that blighters are loners, you could also develop a secret cult of blighters devoted to ruining the world’s ecology.

thus you could say:

Blighter 10/ Suel Arcanamach 10

BAB +14(20 with Divine Power)
9th lvl Divine Spells
5th lvl Arcane
Huge Undead Wildshape 5/day

So the other Buy-Off classes ... like OA Maho-Tsukai.
Course this is the same, base class into buy off situation.

Could "cheat" a little, and use a Savage Species ritual.
Turn yourself into a higher level monster, and
owe someone or something, a rather large pile of moolah.
PrC like normal immediately after.

Polymorph Any Object ... is available at the local Magic Mart, right ?!
