My character is a dragonborn Arcane Hierophant who's taken the Dragon Wildshape feat at 12th level.  And though it might not be optimal, I've been focusing on making this character a melee (dragon) monster with spell support.

I've got a level of cleric for Persistent DMM, and Contemplative for access to Righteous Might (which I will persist).  The various "bite of" spells also look like good targets for persist.

I'm not sure what to do with a couple extra feats.  I've got Ability Focus: Breath already.  Now I'm looking at things like Entangling Exhalation (not sure how good it is when I've got access to Stunning Breath), Flyby Attack, Recover Breath, Heighten Breath, Multiattack, Awaken Frightful Presence.

Anyone have experience playing something like this?  What feats would you recommend?

extra turning to persist more stuff? kinda hard to offer advice without seeing the build.

If you really want to melee in Dragonshape, snag Rapidstrike and it's improved version if you can [Dr]. The BAB prerequisite makes it a little tricky to qualify for given your build, but with fractional BAB (or perhaps persistent Divine Power)  it might work out nicely.

Natural Spell should be a given, of course.

Other options for your build: Practiced Spellcaster [CArc], Extra Turning and Companion Spellbond [PHB2] (although, in the case of an Arcane Hierophant, the Spell-Linked familiar feat from Dragon Magazine is much better).

Persistent Divine Power, Righteous Might (perhaps, if you want to be large) and Bite of the Werebear are golden.

My experience is that dragons, get them how you may, have three general paths. They can be melee monsters, breath masters, or casters. If, as it sounds like, you're aiming at melee monster, you shouldn't worry about improving your breath too much. Most breath masters will abuse Flyby Attack/Hover and basically avoid melee. The one breath feat that pretty much everything with a breath attack should always have is Recover Breath.

Other than that, without seeing the build... probably get Multiattack and Imp. Multiattack and Rapidstrike and Imp. Rapidstrike. If you have claw and wing attacks, take the Rapidstrike feats for both pairs.

Then, for gigantic cheese, find a way to get Stormguard Warrior, since the number of melee attacks you should be making will be ridiculous.
