| #1shuntensatsuFeb 21, 2009 22:46:30 | Got a bard/chameleon build and was hoping you guys could help me figure out a way to round out the character. I checked out the Chameleon compilation thread, and none of them really fit what I wanted (also looked a bit outdated, so maybe it's missing something). I can only have 4 classes (any prc/base class combo) total. His main role is the party face outside of combat (already got a rogue for sneaky stuff). In combat, depending on the situation, he may be a damage dealer, or battlefield controller, or healer. The majority of the time he's using both the arcane and the divine focus. This build it obviously MAD, but I'm going for jack-of-all-trade, so it's not a huge deal. If he finishes it off as bard10/chameleon10, he can have pretty crazy amount of spells per day, including bard spells up to 4th level, any arcane spells up to 6th level, and any divine spells up to 6th level. Some initial thoughts: Show --bard7/ftr2/chameleon10/marshal1: a little less bard spells, 2 extra ftr feats, 1 marshal minor aura (probably Dexterity bonus) --bard4/clr1/chameleon10/spellcasting prc5: practically no bard spells, Divine Metamagic cheese, a 5 level prc that has its own spell list (not sure what) |
| #2thehumandynamoFeb 21, 2009 23:41:47 | Some ideas: Bard7/Chameleon10/Factotum 3- gets you some really great abilities including add int bonus to attack, damage, or saves, int to all str and dex based skills, tons of skill points, and int to AC for a round. Bard5/Lyric Thamaturge5/Chameleon10 - Gives you same spellcasting as Bard 10, but offers you a TON more spell choices (and gives you spells off of the sorc/wiz list to cast as bard spells). |
| #3true_shinkenFeb 22, 2009 11:35:33 | Get Spellthief 1 for Master Spellthief cheese. You don't really need Bard spells since you have Chameleon casting, unless you also have the dragonblood subtype and Versatile Spellcaster. |
| #4shuntensatsuFeb 28, 2009 16:26:38 | Anyone have any other suggestions? I'd really like to know if there are any really worth-while 5 level prcs to dip into. |
| #5apokalipsaFeb 28, 2009 16:49:12 | Factotum 10/Chameleon 10 You will have enought spells from Chameleon. Factotum have some greats tricks (starting from extra standard action) and it suits well you jack of all trades concept. Also your class skills list will be amazing. Factotum also have some spells. Bards + Chameleon seems to be sub optimal, since you don't make use of Bard abilities, no inspiring courage fun, no metamagic song. |
| #6ymuckluckFeb 28, 2009 18:19:23 | (Silver) Dragon Shaman x/Bard x/ Chameleon 10 The dragon shaman with the silver dragon totem has bluff and disguise as class skills. Feather fall at will. Skill Focus as bonus feats to bluff, disguise, and/or jump. Breath weapon, a lay on hands ability, and oh AURA's (always have everyone at half hit points after battle with vigor)! I personally think the best route to chameleon is dragon shaman, but I'm biased, if you want to throw in bard levels they also stack well, but I wouldn't go bard 10, throw in some Dragon Shaman. Some breaking points for dragon shaman would probably be 1,5,6, or 10 |
| #7ikildkennyFeb 28, 2009 18:44:19 | Putting it all together something like this sounds nice to me: Factotum1/Dragon Shaman1/Spellthief1/Factotum7/Chameleon10 true Jack of all Trades and nice Bonusses (vigor Aura, Master Spellthief, extra Actions ...) |
