| #1brxynMar 23, 2008 21:11:18 | before coming on the boards, i was under the impression that Powerful Build and Monkey Grip could stack. since they dont, this puts a bit of a damper on a character concept i had. how would you build a character (starting from size Medium) and have him wield (dual-wield, if at all possible) the biggest weapons possible? bonus points if it would count as Colossal+. |
| #2sudsymcgeeMar 24, 2008 0:06:26 | i have been working on this and so far i have gotten a guy who can wield an large bastard swords (monkey and improved monkey). all in all the best way to do this is the enlarge spell and powers like it. the spells i believe can get u 2 gargantuan weapons with monkey grip. so u can stack 2 up size abilities to get u 2 huge and monkey grip and improved lets u wield gargantuan weapons. |

Another silly way is Wu Jen Giant size spell (7th lvl). With 19+ CL you become Colossal in size. Wearing Strongarm bracers you can wield Colossal+ weapons. Then there's always the Hulking Hurler... |
| #4swiftbluMar 24, 2008 11:49:38 | A Wu-Gen 20 with Monkey Grip casting Giant Size gets a Colossal+ weapon. EDIT- Ninja'd |
| #5fwibMar 24, 2008 12:05:11 | The biggest weapon is anything thrown at you by a high-strength Hulking Hurler |
| #6larry_the_titanMar 24, 2008 14:17:56 | The biggest weapon is anything thrown at you by a high-strength Hulking Hurler That isn't a Weapon that is tossing a planet at someone. Ok it was a small moon but I assume by weapon he means a sword or hammer maybe an axe. Honestly the best way to get you weapon size is to do something that increases a weapon size one higher then normal then use magic to increase your size as much as possible. Multiple ways have already been covered so he has nothing to worry about. |
| #7altpersonaMar 24, 2008 15:37:07 | you shape your super large / heavy object like a moon, ill shape mine like a hammer.. either way , a HH throws it and things git smashed.. |
| #8larry_the_titanMar 24, 2008 15:51:44 | you shape your super large / heavy object like a moon, ill shape mine like a hammer.. The funny thing is the HH still can't kill a wizard of equal level and Ninja's by that time can go Incorporeal as well. The material Plane may be at the mercy of a dim wit with a Planetoid in hand but most spell casters will still survive the fight along with smarter Melleers. Which makes it still a fairly useless build by itself. |

| #10andyjamesMar 24, 2008 20:19:23 | Umm... Guys? Spell: Greater Mighty Wallop Duration: 1 hour/level Effect: Your bludgeoning weapon counts as 1 size bigger/4 caster levels. Level 20 = 5 size increases: Medium -> Large -> Huge -> Gargantuan -> Colossal -> Colossal+ If you are a Goliath, then it goes to Colossal++, and so on... A small moon counts as a bludgeoning weapon, right? |
| #11larry_the_titanMar 24, 2008 20:43:40 | Umm... Guys? Yeah but I don't think the Hulking Hurler can cast the spell in any possible way. Though I may be wrong. |
| #12andyjamesMar 24, 2008 21:52:38 | Yeah but I don't think the Hulking Hurler can cast the spell in any possible way. Though I may be wrong. He is not alone in the party, is he? Ask your Wizard friend to cast it for you. And be nice and buy him a Pearl of Power 3 for his troubles. |
| #13brxynMar 24, 2008 23:14:32 | i was thinking more a Goliath Greathammer. i was probably going to give it to a dwarven deepwarden (ranger 2/barbarian 6/deepwarden 2,) if that helps. i should also say that i decided on that build after the initial post. as an aside: you guys have been super helpful. thanks. |
| #14brxynMar 25, 2008 0:16:49 | i also feel the need to mention that ToB isnt used. the DM isnt a fan of it. |
| #15vicen_korelMar 27, 2008 1:04:10 | My thought would be powerful build, Balanced blades, Dervish PrC, and then some form of enlarge person spell. starting large weapons with powerful build dervish makes scimitars light, go huge for 1 handed Balanced blades makes 1 handed weapons light if the same 2 are used go garantuan *note balanced blades is a feat from the arcanist setting I remember seeing it under a different name else where I just don't remember where* enlarge spell for large size and increase to colossal weapons. Of course you have attack penalties from size difference, *-4 in total, large creature with powerful build can use huge without penalty* but you can use those colossal weapons. Or have the weapons dragged by random big pack animal, have the spell cast first then pick them up. |
| #16brxynMar 27, 2008 10:56:17 | My thought would be powerful build, Balanced blades, Dervish PrC, and then some form of enlarge person spell. i know they have a Balanced enchantment in A&EG. i dont know about the feat.... |
| #17vicen_korelMar 27, 2008 11:41:28 | I know the feat is in arcanist campaign settings, I thought I had seen it elsewhere but I can't find a copy of it anywhere now. Something else, Forgotten Realms Has the horn blade enhancement that gives you a one size increase for no penalty. |
