Apr 22, 2009 14:33:31 Ok so heres my idea of a binder using ur-priest with the dead god adaptation and tenebrous Apostate.

Binder 5/Ur-priest 2/Tenebrous Apostate 4/BoneKnight 1/Tenebrous Apostate 1/Contemplative 1/Bone knight 3/Knight of the Seal 3.

Iron will Extend spell

Spell Focus (Evil)
Improved Binding

Persistent Spell

Divine meta magic (Persistent Spell)

Divine Vigour

Practised caster (Ur-Priest)

Weapon Focus Long sword

So Binding 14 lvl, 9th level spells +plus 1 domain most likely trickery so I get so cool no cleric spells.

So any idea's on equipment and spells I should be looking at using.

Apr 22, 2009 14:41:31 I'm playing a 12th level Binder/Ur-Priest right now. His equipment and spells prepared might be useful, but he only has up to 7th level spells at the moment. I took the Sin-Envy domain from Dragon Magazine with my level of Contemplative, but Trickery is certainly nice, also.

Just in case... James wrote the Binder's Handbook, and is probably the classes biggest advocate on the boards. :D There is a link to the handbook in his sig.

Apr 22, 2009 15:58:08 Drop 2 levels of KoSS for 2 levels of Bloodlines. It'll improve your CL by 6 and your EBL by 4. Final EBL will still be 16, slightly better than your EBL of 14.

Also, the Anima Mage has a divine adaptation section. If you can use the Dead God adaptation of the Ur, you can use the Divine of the Anima Mage. No need for Bone Knight (I think... Its used for turning, right?).

Combining Tenebrous w/ DMM is super cheese, depending on how you want it to work. How do you want it to work?

Contemplative is weighing you down unless you use bloodlines. No real need for an extra domain.

Consider this instead:
Binder 5 / Ur-Priest 2 / Divine Anima Mage 8 / Tenebrous Apostate 2 / KoSS 1 / Bloodline 2
BAB +10 (+18-+20 w/ DMM: Persistent Divine Power), EBL 23, CL 14 (18 w/ Practiced Spellcaster, and >21 w/ Divine Spell Power)

Requires 4 feats in its whole progression.

Your build is in fact better than mine, I'd never considered the divine adaption of anima mage. That is very cool indeedie.

yeah using the tenebrous free turns for powering divine feats like divine vigor etc.

The Contemplative level is to give me access to spells clerics dont normally get .

How about

binder5/urpriest 2/anima mage 8/knight of the seal 5

with improved binder i get ebl20 , sure the caster level is low, I'd just stick to save or dies etc spells that dont use my caster level as much.

take dmm quicken spell etc and focusing on being a spell caster more than a fighter.

or for a build that lets be keep the apostate levels as well,

binder5/urpriest 2/Tenebrous Apostate 5/anima mage 5/knight of the seal 3

Apr 22, 2009 19:29:05 Improved Binding doesn't give you EBL 20; it only gives you access as if you were EBL 20, but you max out at EBL 17, so its not worth it in a high-level build... Worth it up to ECL 20.

Make sure your DM is cool with tenebrous feeding DMM. RAW, it doesn't really work (daily turn attempts =/= turning every 5 rounds).

Apr 22, 2009 23:40:40 He has Ur-Priest 2, so he can rely on that for DMM. He can use the Tenebrous rebuking for things that only require 1 use.

It is really easy to boost your caster level. Look at my Ur-Priest build for examples. It hits CL 20 at 12th level while buffing.
