#1 tensius Feb 07, 2009 19:37:26	Got a skill monkey rogue/bard who's also the face of the party. He disarms traps, plays diplomat, buffs, etc. I'll be burning 3 feats to get Dragonfire Inspiration (sonic), to help out the attackers, as well as himself when he needs to attack. My problem is buffing up the casters. The party has a druid who will get a Fleshraker that'll be our party tank, and he'll use summoning spells, wildshape, and spells to plug in whatever hole is needed to be plugged in, which I assume will be melee damage and some battlefield control. There's also a wizard and a sorcerer, and those are the ones I can't figure out how to help out. My limitation is that we're only allowed 4 classes total (including prcs), so I'm already down 2 classes for Rog/Brd. Also: no Words of Creation. I figure I have a few choices: 1. Take a few levels of Marshal and pick up the Dexterity/initiative aura and/or spellcasting DC boost (which I think is kind of meh due to Assay Spell Resistance), and pick up Sublime Chord at level 11. 2. Take a few levels of Marshal like above, but instead of Sublime Chord pick a 4th class/prc that can benefit the casters more (such as.......???) 3. Take Sublime Chord and War Weaver and focus on general buff spells like Freedom of Movement, Haste, etc. I'm just not sold that these buffs are that great for the casters. 1 and 3 would lock me in at 4 classes, so I can't combine them unfortunately. Stats are 10 str, 15 dex, 14 con, 14 int, 8 wis, 16 cha. Feats include:Able Learner (human feat), Dragontouched, Artist (free from DM), TWF (Rogue feat variant), Draconic Heritage (Battle Dragon). For 6th level he'll be taking Dragonfire Inspiration. 9th level will probably be either Snowflake Wardance or Enlarge Spell, depending on the route I go, since War Weaver requires Enlarge Spell. TWF is suboptimal I assume, but it's one of those things that's just part of who I wanted the character to be, mainly because I have a back story for his weapons, so that's pretty locked in. He won't be much good in fights til Snowflake wardance, but what the hell. In any case, my concern is helping out the casters. Any ideas?
#2 pithica Feb 08, 2009 11:36:57	You could twist in Inspire Greatness for the spellcaster(s), but, honestly, you shouldn't need to be buffing the spellcasters. The non-casters are the ones that need your help.
