Bardic music realy suffers, though. Might be better served with barbarian 1/bard/druid/druid-bard PrC whose name escapes me right now. There's a bard PrC that advances songs in CArc: Seeker of the Song.
Barbarian 1/bard/totemist/sublime chord/soulcaster if you have magic of incarnum.

I like the idea of tossing in a level (or 5) of Bear Warrior just for the sake of being a singing bear.
What books do you have available? Do you want to focus more on singing or do you want to go into Sublime Chord for casting? What level are you starting at?

I have all the completes, races (minus ebboron), and most of the other books. most notably book of exalted, nine swords, incarnium, and most of the hero's series (horror, battle, ect... )
I'm willing to throw casting out the window for more sneakyness/angry Great Ax hate. He will focus on melee and song primarily (was thinking of warchanter)
This guy is like a battle singer for a barbarian tribe or something the like. who goes into battle singing some song or another and does the typical barbarian thing in a bar (brawling, carousing, ect...)
The idea of a singing bear IS hilarious but I'm not sure that it will work by RAW (bears can't really "sing" can they?).
And as a note, just because you're the battle singer/leader for a barbarian tribe it doesn't necessarily make you a barbarian (although I'd still consider a level dip of barbarian/bear warrior. Note that you can inspire your troops in many ways, not just music. I think growling and mauling qualifies as inspiration).

Good point but, what perform would that be? It's a touch hard to use that one in a bar too but it makes it easy to figure out how a bear can use inspire courage.
Warchanter is a decent class. If your teammates/followers are built for it, it can be very good. If you have access to the Champions of Valor web enhancement (available online), the paladin harmonius knight sub levels can get you early entry. Whether or not all 10 levels is worth it is dependant on your team and what kind of enemies you face. Something similar in flavour to consider is the Warchief from the Miniatures Handbook.
As for the perform skill, as a bear I would say that falls under singing or oratory. In speech a simple mantra or shout could be all that's needed to inspire your troops. As a bear, it's reasonable to assume that your roar would be sufficient to keep them inspired. After all, you're a grizzly mowing down the front lines.
