Building a character around a picture

So I saw this picture earlier today and decided immediately that I had to build a character around it.

Right now I'm thinking either half-fey or feytouched elf. While I prefer half-fey mechanically, the wings don't work for me in this situation. Any templates or races I'm missing that might work here?

As far as builds go, they're clearly warriors of some sort, so I was thinking some kind of martial or gish build using a glaive or a spear. Any ideas? A nature-themed gish?

Feytouched Elf: Lion Totem Barb, Revenant Blade 5, Frenzied Berserker 10. Enough said. Those leafy things could be aesthetically pleasing Valenar Double Scimitars.

Good call on the revenant blade. I'm surprised that PrC didn't cross my mind since I've been wanting to play one for a while now.

Hood.

I already play one in another campaign.:P I'm hoping to change things up a little bit.

well these guys are called Nath's Elite. for some reason, MtG decided elves were going to have horns and hooves in this set. appearance-wise, id say satyr. also, for classes (and i dont know all the crazy prcs that yall know) id say scout/fighter

If you don't feel like going the elf route there's always the Killoren from Races of the Wild.

But I also reccomend a swfit hunter build.

They've always screamed half-fey binders with Magic in the blood to me.
They do terrible things in the name of strange ideals, neh? They follow forgotten rites? They wear masks, have horns, I mean, perfect fit from my corner.

Thank you, I sure hope so!

These ideas occurred to me also, but the more I look at the picture, the more I want to incorporate the use of magic into the build, and moreso than just abilities granted by a template.

I'll have to check out the Killoren.

I definitely like magic in the blood, though I have zero experience using the binder class. I like the sound of the concept though. What would a build look like?

Also, wizards has template levels here for half-fey. Conceivably, that could get me some of the half-fey racial spells without needing to receive wings...

Any WoTC material is good to go. Dragon magazine stuff is DM's discretion. We'd be starting around level 6, going all the way up to 20.

Fist of the forest seems like a good thematic fit.

Wizard 1/ Binder 1/ Anima mage xxxx as per the standard early entry hack would be a lot of fun. T_G plays a similar build in one of my campaigns, and it's an incredibly cool character.

And what would the standard early entry hack be? As I said, zero binder experience.

I also found the Vigilant Sentinel in Magic of Eberron that seems like a rather flavorful class to combine with Revenant Blade. Dimension leap screams Telflammar Shadowlord with it being being usable once per minute.

sure:

lvl 1, Binder: improved binding, dummy feat
lvl 2, sorcerer/wizard: retrain dummy feat for precaucious apprentice
lvl 3, animamage (entry via sorc): take versityle spellcaster and retrain precaucious apprentice for heigten spell
