| #1qosheaApr 14, 2009 6:54:15 | Which class is best for building constructs? Artificer, Cleric, Sorcerer, or Wizard? I'm leaning towards a magical engineer type, starting at level 9. All books except for Dragon Magazine. We're currently playing in a monstrous campaign, so none of the standard races can be played. Any suggestions? Stats and Race Race: Goblin Class: ??? Ability Scores, with racial adjustments: Str 09 (-1) Dex 15 (+2) Con 14 (+2) Int 15 (+2) Wis 13 (+1) Cha 11 (+0) |

The original version of the character was a wizard going for effigy master. I've got that bookmarked already LOL. But Wizards can't make most of those due to that blasted 'animate objects' spell. |

You only need to take the feat and then you basically consider you have access to every single spells in existance. For arcane you need a skill (with modifiers) of only 14 for level 9 arcane spells (since you are taking 10 thanks to "decieve Item" another warlock power). For divine version it's more steep. Skill (with mods again) need to be 24. But rules don't say you can't make a item (lets say googles ?) that give you a use magic device bonus. A pair of such google (a Wondrous Item) could be made by someone with 10 ranks in Use Magic Device (yourself most likely) and would have a market price of 10,000 (Costing you 5,000 and 400 xp). So the skill for arcane drop to 4 and for divine to 14). From what I can see, Warlock is weaker and has less options than a wizard, but it's defenetivly stronger than a artificer damage wise. Take what you can, never give back ! Yo ho ho ! |
