Heya CO-board!

I'm currently playing with a grp highly facinated with cartoons and trying to recreate those toons as their chars. Nothing new here I guess... Seen plenty of self-healing wolverines, warforged warlocks trying to be Ironman, warforged druids trying to be Optimus Prime... etc. BAH!.

I need dark. I need gritty. I need: spawn!Yell

I've come up with some (not much) ideas on how to go with him:

* I thought of making him some item that allows for a permanent (or almost) Howling Chains spell (from SpC). I know it says that you can't move it.. but, what if we find a way to break that limitation?? :P

* I thought of making myself undead and I want to animate his cloak/robe for the awesome effects (don't have to do anything real ingame, but it would be nice if it had some nifty use)

I have 17 lvls available, of which I think all of them will be some kind of arcane caster. One thing that Spawn keeps doing throughout the series is to break the laws of Newton and those buggers, I think a wizard/sorc type char can be made quite a physics breaker.

Anything that adds Spawn flavor will be greatly appreciated! may it be class combinations, race, specific items or spells. whatever!

The grp have acces to pretty much all official books when we pool our goods, but no dragon/dungeon mags.

As a side note, I hate Warlocks and those types of chars that have all "at will" powers. Just takes out the fun in the game of actually trying to stay alive. Getting depleted and such.  Tome of battle is alright, some of those abilities are rather fun ingame Laughing

Thank you very much,
'Nuff said.

I'd say PsyWar. You get wierd powers, including various teleporting things. Get EWP spiked chain or Kusari Gama. Get Form of Doom, because, well, yeah. Heck, you can even get a psychoactive skin to mimic the "living costume" thing. I think this with maybe some Expanded Knowledge feats fro nay powers you might need to fill in holes would be okay. Heck, the mantled PstWar from Mind's Eye could add a ton to that. So, yeah, I'd say PsyWar if you're not having to be undead.

Excellent (evil grin) ;)

I like your with the PsyWar, I think I might have just looked too long at the spellcaster so see anything else. Form of Doom is awesome no matter what - if not for anything but nice cinematix.

I don't understand the Expanded Knowledge feat idea, what does that do for me? Smile

Thanks for the response

Have you seen the "Hellspawn" race in Fiendish Codex II? Its basically just, well a hellspawn straight from the spawn comics.

Expanded Knowledge lets you nab a power from another manifester's power list. It can get you access to powers you couldn't get ptherwise. Same thing for the mantles. Good luck!

You could also use the Kyton Chain armour from Magic Item Compendium... it's not amazingly good... but fits the theme. A cloak that gives featherfall may also be a good call. And Hellbred is a very good race.

I would also advise either the Dark or Shadow template, and buy the ECL off later. Psiwarrior with all the ectoplasmic and empathic abilities would be cool

Thank you guys, this was exacly the kind of things I was looking for - all flavor!

Obsidian - great idea with the kython armor, those chains fit perfectly.

hehe, and Expanded Knowledge might actually make this build rather usefull besides the nice visuals ;)

Again thx guys, one PsyWar-chain wielding-!"#kicking- Hellspawn comming up.Cool

I'm not playing my char until this current campaign is over, so there's still time for other suggestions if there's some more awesomeness anyone can think of.

Just a few other things... boots of jaunting in the MiC... or whatever they are called... so you can teleport... it sounds strange, but kinda works with the jumping from shadow to shadow thing spawn does (He's my favourite comic character)

The other things... something of spider climb... though since you're going for Psi-War... take the Up the Walls feat

No doubt there will be some up-the walls going on :P

A few spells that I have thought of to bring in some nice things:

* Haunt Shift (LM) - make some undead "haunt" an object that then acts like an animated object. With this I could make some living cloak that actually have a life of it's own.

* Balancing Lorecall (SpC) - yeah. Use balance to walk on a vertical wall. Both hands are free and you don't loose your dex to AC.

and ofcause the mentioned Howling Chain - animates a chain to attack any opponent, trip them, and doing so pretty well :D

I'm thinking I'm about to have my character formed in my head - and I'm liking what I see. Malbolgia is going down!!

Item Familar feat in Unearthed Arcana, get a semi-sentient cape or cloak that gets better with you.
