Ok, I have a player in my Gestalt game, who is playing a Dread Necromancer/Beguiler. She's about to hit 10th level, and is getting a bit miffed that she's always got so many more spell slots left when the rest of the party needs to sleep.
She's looking for ways to burn more of her spell slots, faster, rather than the simple 'casting one spell every round' method.
Are there any feats or such out there that let you burn spell slots to beef up other spells? (A bit like Arcane Strike burns spell slots to beef up melee)

Versatile Spellcaster, from Races of the Dragon, would be good for her...not exactly burning slots to fuel another effect, but you get to burn 2 slots of a given level to cast a spell of the next level up, so she'd get to blast away with her best spells for longer.

She could always give those spell slots to other players via a Ring of Spell Storing, Spell Storing Weapons, the imbue familiar feat from the PHB II (Or one of the completes?), etc.

She could also memorize a bunch of super-long duration spells for her low level slots too, or take some swift-action low level spells like swift expeditious retreat and distract assailant.

Oh, and edit: all your spell slots are belong to us

Use UMD and a Runestaff to cast Battlemagic Perception. 3rd level spell from Heroes of Battle. For 10 mins/level you can counterspell as a free action. Thus you gain more actions as well as using some of your 3rd and eventually 6th level slots. After you successfully counterspell a spell then Battlemagic Perception ends.

Also a good spell to have in a wand for those I am going to fight an army today.

See if you can get Explosive Runes on your spell list. Any unused spells at the end of the day become explosive runes... that's always good for a laugh.

Interested in this. Anyone have a way to do so?

e: beyond Extra Spell and applying it to things not on your list (which is a bit cheesy)

Unfortunately "Get spells X, Y, Z added to your list" doesn't really work for her classes, since it'd be burning a feat each time..

rather than the simple 'casting one spell every round' method.

Cast 2 spells per round - pick some swift/immediate action spells. Cast utility spells off-combat. Buff everyone.

Not sure, honestly, but you'd think there would be a way.

Well, if you take Arcane Disciple to get the Rune domain, that'd put Explosive Runes on your list as a 4th level spell, as well as Lesser Planar Binding just for fun. However, that's only once per day, based on your Wisdom. That plus Versatile Spellcaster, and maybe you could burn two lower level slots to cast Explosive Runes past your 1/day limit? I'm not sure if that'd work. Probably not.

Umm...PHB II...Ecclectic Learning is it? Doesn't that add it? Have to be able to cast fifth level spells, but she is at level 10... would have to wait until level 12 to do it though...

Though the rule is for Warmages, it should apply to Beguilers (at least based on logic) since they have the same ability (Advanced Learning)
