| #1dr_rocktopusMar 30, 2009 14:20:05 | Read the old Spank The Monkey thread and couldn't resist teching out something similar. If someone could clean it up, and make it more workable, I'd be extremely delighted. Slightly embarrassed, but extremely delighted. King Mazinger 2 flaws human Feat count: +4 at level one +2 from fighter levels +1 from feat rogue 6 +1 from third +1 from sixth +1 from bloodstorm blade 9 +1 from ninth +1 from twelfth +1 from fifteenth +1 from eighteenth For a total of 14 feats available. Needs 14 feats total, so we're just barely in luck. |
| #2arogenithMar 30, 2009 14:47:05 | So, here's the gig. Do these stack? If so then I don't know why you don't go for another level of master thrower and grab deadeye shot. 1=miss, 2-20=crit. 95%>80% |
| #3dr_rocktopusMar 30, 2009 15:08:07 | That'd be multiplier for damage on a successful crit, rather than the threat-range over-all. There's not really a cogent or easy way to get crit-range multipliers in third ed, and here I'm using a bunch of 3.0 stuff. |
| #4arogenithMar 30, 2009 15:53:07 | riiight, sorry, got my classes mixed up. I'm thinking...Mythic Exemplar? 1 sec, I'll go grab my books. Ahh, here we go: Mythic Exemplar (Complete Champion p 87) 1st level gets 0 BAB, fort, ref, and will, no spellcasting increase, but gets "save bonus +1" which in this case means +1 fort, and Paragon's Gift, Least Paragon's Gift, Least(su) --Arogenith's editing takes place here-- Sunyartra: The critical threat range of one weapon you weild increases by 1. This increase stackswith those from other sources, such as the keen weapon property or the Improved Critical feat. |
| #5dr_rocktopusMar 30, 2009 16:28:04 | Why hello there! How'd I miss that? :: curious :: This means that we can either get 95% with stump knives or 80% with normal weapons used by sane men. |
| #6sofawallMar 30, 2009 19:30:26 | What about the feat that makes 1s count as 20s? |
| #7dr_rocktopusMar 31, 2009 4:33:31 | If you can find me room for the feat ![]() |
| #8sofawallMar 31, 2009 6:39:35 | Yeah, that will be trouble... I'll work on it... Wait, Otyugh Hole + retrain or embrace/shun retrain? |
| #9dr_rocktopusMar 31, 2009 6:51:39 | I tend to embrace retraining, though I wonder about retraining feats granted by events. I wonder what the popular opinion is? |
| #10atomickitkatMar 31, 2009 11:58:12 | Heh. Double amputee... Reminds me of the time someone tried to optimise limblessness. New motto: CO: We can always make you Handicapable.:P |
| #11dr_rocktopusMar 31, 2009 12:32:02 | I think going infinite in a particularly interesting manner, from a statistical standpoint, counts as optimized, neh? |
| #12true_shinkenMar 31, 2009 16:37:36 | Just sell yoru soul for 2 feats and call it a day ^^ |
| #13tytalusMar 31, 2009 17:05:11 | 17-20*4 = (20 19 18 17) 16 15 14 13 | 12 11 10 9 | 8 7 6 5 Note that only attacks that actually hit can threaten a crit (nat. 20 aside). |
| #14dr_rocktopusMar 31, 2009 17:14:55 | It's true. But thems the breaks trying to break a character who actually has to hit things and isn't a caster. |
| #15tshernMar 31, 2009 17:16:06 | JaronK actually already made something similar to this with kukris. |
| #16dr_rocktopusMar 31, 2009 17:21:20 | I imagined so, but I had a burning urge to throw stump knives. ![]() |
| #17malkavonMar 31, 2009 18:46:56 | I gotta ask: where is the stump-knife from? I'm assuming this is quite literally a knife affixed in place of a hand. If so, throwing stump knives .... gah, that's almost as bad as the kensai who throws his fists. |
| #18dr_rocktopusMar 31, 2009 18:59:55 | A&E Guide if I remember. They're 3.0 material I think. You have indeed grasped what our dear friend does. He rocket-punches them with his stump knives and explodes into a gundam-esque beamspam. I personally think it's hilarious, and will probably giggle every time I read this thread, but I understand that it's sort of a done concept. Still, Mazinger PUNCH! |
