Can a Lich or Dry Lich retrain out its spellcaster levels?

I've been quite intrigued by dry liches lately, but 10 levels of walker of the waste is a bit of a pain, both for PC building and NPC building. So my question is, does anything prohibit a lich or dry lich from using retraining abilities to cease to be a walker in the waste or spellcaster?

IIRC, you need like, three wiz levels or something for vanilla lich, due to prereqs being tied to CASTER level, which can be way beyond your spellcasting classes.

there is a minor trick, where the Pc has to be "something" while it is doing the retraining. At the very least it has racial hit dice while the retraining is happening. So that's where a rather long thread happened over at bg. Don't use this if you aren't playing with crazy CO-guys. (wink)

Jun 05, 2010 16:49:55 I think what the OP meant is if there was a way to, after becoming a lich from WitW, to maybe retrain the first 9 levels of the class into something else. Personally, i don't think that was the intention of retraining.
