Can a Psion/Mage be effective?

Hi all, I am considering making a Psion (undecided which disipline) mashed with a wizard. Has anyone had any experience or seen any threads about a build like this? What are the likely pitfalls i might encounter? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Things to get are Elan race+Alter Self into Choaker with Assume Supernatural Ability or Metamorphic Transfer

Mental Pinnacle for more PP when you are out per day

Schism+Synchroiticity. Use your schism mind to cast the 1 pp Synchoitcity which allows you to use a normal spell or power.

Early Entry into cerbemancer with precocious apprentice.

Linked Power is awesome, and even more so when combine with synchronicity. You don't lose a standard action this round casting this power (since you regain it via synchroncity) and you gain an additional one next round.

Mar 11, 2010 0:28:05 Thanks guys!.. It seems like there is alot of overlap with the wizard class when playing with psions, and that there isnt really alot of feats that straddle both wizard class and psion. Is this the general consensus or am I mistaken?

Thanks again for the precocious apprentice feat - That will save me a level in Wizard, a really great tip!
