I want to have both the travel domain and travel devotion. Is this possible by simply taking the travel domain twice and trading one copy of it for the feat as per complete champion rules. If this isn't possible at level 1, I assume it IS possible with prestige classes that give an extra domain such as contemplative?

Why don't you just take the feat? Clerics don't have THAT many great feats to take anyway.

Ask your DM. I suppose you could take the travel domain, trade it for devotion, and take the travel domain for your second domain since you don't have it anymore... It's a bit shaky though.

Clerics have enough good feats that it could make a difference :P

Not a sizable one, however. Aside from key metamagic feats and a Divine/Domain feat or two, Clerics can do just about whatever they want, just like Druids so long as they get Natural Spell at 6th.

Very true. They have so many options, why bother using one for a devotion if you don't have to? That was my point at least.

You mean the domain power right? You trade in the domain power for the devotion feat, not the entire domain.

Well, let's look at the RAW.

Clerics and Domains: When you have chosen an alignment and a deity for your cleric,
choose two domains from among those given on Table 3–7 for the
deity. While the clerics of a particular religion are united in their
reverence for their deity, each cleric emphasizes different aspects of
the deity’s interests. You can select an alignment domain (Chaos,
Evil, Good, or Law) for your cleric only if his alignment matches that
domain.
If your cleric is not devoted to a particular deity, you still select
two domains to represent his spiritual inclinations and abilities. The
restriction on alignment domains still applies.

It says "two domains," not "two separate domains," so you should be able to take the same domain twice. Travel is a domain. Travel is also a domain. Therefore, you can take Travel and Travel (deity permitting).

Clerics and Domain Feats: If you are a cleric (or any
other character class who gains access to a domain), you
can choose any domain feat corresponding to the list of
domains offered by your deity, even if you do not have
access to those particular domains. A cleric of Pelor, for
example, can choose to cast spells from the Good and
Healing domains but select the Strength Devotion and
Sun Devotion feats.

In addition, you can choose to give up access to a domain
in exchange for the corresponding domain feat. Doing so
allows you to select up to three domain feats, but you cannot
prepare domain spells or use the granted power of the sacrificed
domain. In essence, you trade in a domain for an extra
feat slot that you can spend only on a specific domain feat.
For example, the above cleric of Pelor could choose to give
up the granted power and spells of the Good domain for the
Good Devotion feat.

You can give up access to a domain for the corresponding domain feat. If you have the Travel domain and the Travel domain, you can give up access to Travel to get the feat. You now have the Travel domain and the Travel feat.

All of this is moot if it was errata'd or cust serv'd somewhere, though.

EDIT:
You mean the domain power right? You trade in the domain power for the devotion feat, not the entire domain.

You lose the domain power and the ability to cast spells from the domain, along with "In essence, [trading] in a domain for an extra feat slot that you can spend only on a specific domain feat." So it appears that you trade the whole domain, but 'in essence' might not count as RAW. If it doesn't, you are still considered to have that domain for the purposes of qualifying for feats, Prcs, and other things (like magic items that only work for a person with a specific domain), but you can't use any of the features of the domain.

That's what you get at Ordained Champion 1, man...
