Can you maximize Claws of the beast?

And what happens if make 2d6 claws and later expand your self?
Do you do 12 dam with the maximized claws - and then 18 dam or?

Feb 14, 2011 11:30:01 		No, you can't. The power's effect is not the damage the claws deal, but rather simply getting 2 claws. There are no variable, numeric effects to maximize.

It's like maximizing Summon Monster (when used to summon a single creature, not multiple lower-level ones). The monster you summon doesn't get max HP or deal max damage. 

However, if you expand yourself, your natural weapons do improve. See the tables in the claws power or in the changing size rules in the MM.
