| #1pithicaMay 29, 2009 9:17:52 | I just bought Explorer's Hanbook for a Eberron campaign I should be starting soon. I must be reading this incorrectly. Page 59 of the Explorer's Handbook. The Su ability granted at level 3 of the class: Cataclysm of the Flesh; doesn't seem to have a per/day limit anywhere I can find either in the book, the eratta, or any variation of the class or ability I've tried googling. It's a pretty nasty AoE Save or Suck on top of it with a Reflex save. It only lasts one round per class level, but with how good it is, the fight shouldn't last all that long anyway. When paired with the Dakaani secret ability at level 1, which can make you some serious bank, it seems like the PrC is a very great 3 level dip for any build that can afford the single lost caster level (Loredrake Kobold Sorcerers anyone)? Have I honestly missed something, I've looked everywhere I can think of and I don't see anyone pointing this out anywhere. |

The strange part is the specific stat for save (int) and lack of spell resistance. Personally my rule of dipping is not to lose a caster lvl; if I do I'm going whole hog - in this case, oh dm, what is the greater mark of death spell(s)? |

I honestly thought it was a mistake but it doesn't seem to be in the errata and I can't find a web enhancement or anything else regarding it. Kobolds can lose a caster level and still be 2 ahead of normal sorcerer progression, which is why I specifically mentioned them. Even without Kobold cheese, losing a single caster level for an at will AoE multi-target save or suck that targets an off save for many casters and specifically hurts them the worst seems like a fair trade. |
