| #1dawnmorDec 10, 2008 17:25:28 | I think ill go this route. Not just for the shear socializing the Changling can do like the Rogue handbook suggested. Its more along the lines of if I steal something, I can run into a dark corner and change shape into something else. Expert infiltrator I suppose youll call it. I just hope I can put him to good use , but the DM may or may not give him the RP opertunities.Str 14 Dex 18 Con 16 Int 16 Wis 14 Cha 17 2 flaws (Non-combative and ?) Rogue 1 (EWP: Light repeater Xbow, Able learner, Able sniper) Rogue 2 Rogue 3 (Feat) Rogue 4 Rogue 5 Chameleon 1 (Feat) Beyond this point I got no where to go or any idea of where to go. Weapon enchantments: Quick-Loading, Splitting, ???? As you can see I been taking the days I been given to come up with a Class to go and try but I never played the Versatility type, So its a new field of expertise for me. I usually play the Charge in and hit people or things with a big sword, but sense we already got a Melee covered, healing covered, beyond this I got nothing. So I am going to go with a Ranged character with a Cross bow. I just like the repeating Xbow alot, so any help to make this type of concept more optimized would be nice. Any 3.5 stuff is allowed and so is Dragon Magazine, but I dont have the Dragon magazines to use, so for me they are out of the question. |

| #4jaronkDec 10, 2008 23:18:27 | I'd go with something more like Rogue 2/Factotum 8/Chameleon 10. Much more flexibility, but you still get that awesome Changeling 1 Rogue substitution. JaronK |
| #5justicesaysDec 11, 2008 8:52:12 | Rogue 1/Artificer 1-4/Chameleon 2 / Artificer 5/Chameleon 3-10/Artificier 6-9 The problem with Factotum is that they are pretty crappy unless you blow a ton of feats on Font of Inspiration. Artificer *gets* a ton of feats (item creation feats mainly), but you can use chameleon feat power to pick up any extra feats you need (like legendary artisan, or craft rod/ring or whatever) and make cheaper items, faster items, combined feat items or whatever. Ask your DM about practiced caster "artificer" for item creation, artificer caster levels are 2 higher than their actual level for item creation purposes as well. Artificers also get back the trap finding you dropped in chameleon rogue, and get 6 skills per level on a list which cover pretty much most things that rogue didnt, and with able learner thats good enough. Ok, its leaving out the cheese like Ianjitsu focus and Autohypnosis, but some GMs might be suspicious of these more questionable skills. Take racial emulation as a normal feat for changling (RoE), then you can use your floating feat to take racial feats and make racial specific magic items, as well as getting an effective +2 to disguise. |
| #6rasmus_wagnerDec 11, 2008 9:25:12 | Rogue 1 (EWP: Light repeater Xbow, Able learner, Able sniper) If you think you can get a quick-loading X-bow, save the feat for Repeater X-bow; Repeater does nothing for a Quick-loading crossbow. Perhaps you should get a Great Crossbow instead. Or stick to hand crossbows. Also, re: repeater crossbow? Running out of bolts in the middle of the fight really sucks. |
| #7frerezarDec 11, 2008 9:43:33 | If you want to go for crossbows grab crossbow focus (drow of the underdark). It lets you load as a free action. And maybe just grab two weapon fighting to be a medieval gunslinguer. |
