Hey guys I hate to be a jerkface since this is the Char Op boards, but I can't get any decent 3.5 answers anywhere else. So just a couple of rule questions that have been bothering people in our party

1) If you have a permanent spell cast upon yourself (i.e. magic fang, arcane site) and then you die, and are subsequently raised, is the spell still in effect?

2) Would a creature that had true seeing be able to see a shadowblended shadowcreature (MM2 MotP p190 and 3.5up p26.)?

Please feel free to post if you only know 1 of the answers, any advice or just opinions would be welcome.

1) I would expect so... although I'm not sure. As a DM, I would probably rule that if you had to recreate the body (death by disintegration, for example), then no, such spells wouldn't stick. But there's nothing to support that viewpoint. RAW, it looks like they'd probably stick around even then.

2) No clue.

1) The spells stay permanent. Unless the permanancy spell is dispelled.

2)Please list the Creature in question. I did not see anything in MM2.

Thanks much for your input - also I am an idiot, Shadow Creature is not in MM2, rather, MotP p190 and 3.5up p26.

2) As far as the Shadowblending Shadow Creature, I'd say that the True Seeing does not work. Since the power is supernatural, the creature is just hiding by mundane means assisted by their supernatural power. True Seeing does not allow you to see some one or thing that is hidden by mundane means.

That's how I see it. Sorry.

Nope I agree with you completely, for both of the questions. In fact, I can't convince anyone of either of them so it is frustrating since I got killed by someone who had true seeing permanently on... and was then raised and now I've lost the permanent spells that once adorned my character.
