| #1maxbartonApr 05, 2009 16:44:03 | Sorry to make a new thread however I wanted to branch out from the ideas that developed from my other thread dealing with a cleric for a two man campaign. For those that didn't see that thread basically I'm creating a character for a 2 man campaign and my companion has already chosen to be a monk/cleric/enlightened fist(divine variant). Basically I want to create something that will be mostly self-sufficient and pack a good amount of power. At first I limited myself to just dealing with ideas for a cleric, but I'd like to broaden ideas to most classes. Here's basically what I get and what I'd prefer from a build... Stats: 18,18,16,16,15,14 Template/Race: My DM has essentially stipulated that I can use any +1 adjustment without penalty pending individual approval. Starting out at lvl 3 Cannot be evil Campaign will most likely be a battlefield style campaign dealing with lots of mobs and some groups of undead. As for my preference I'd like to stay away from Wizards, Mystic Theurge, and Bards, I'm just not a fan of the classes. Any other class is fine or I'm open to the idea at least. Cannot use Dragonlance or ToB. Builds Proposed: cloisteredcleric4/conjurer wizard1 with the rapid summoning and spontaneous summoning variants from UA/SRD/malconvoker9/thaumatugist5/contemplative1 by ninjarabbit Cloistered Cleric 4/ Warlock 1/ Eldritch Disciple 10/ Divine Disciple 5 by gorfnad the shiznit |

That will give you a breath weapon that entangles and burns everyone it hits that you can use every 1d4 rounds. It's pretty sick, and dragonborn is a LA 0 "race" that's actually more like a template from Races of the Dragon. You can also add Dragon Wings and Improved Dragon Wings feats from the same book to get non-magical flight. |

| #5maxbartonApr 08, 2009 22:15:11 | While messing around with some cleric stuff this is a build I came up with... suggestions are most welcome... Cloistered Cleric 5/ Sovereign Speaker 5/ Contemplative 10 Race: Modified Feral Template (D10s, +10 Land Speed, +6 Natural Armor, +4 Str, -2 Dex, +2 Con, -4 Int, +2 Wis) Feral Human Deity: Sovereign Host (technically we're adapting it to the standard pantheon with some of the deities, but I requested to keep the old domain choices.) Stats: Str: 22 (18) Dex: 13(15) Con: 18 (16) Int: 10 (14) Wis: 20 (18) Cha: 16 (16) Domains: Celerity Metal Knowledge Magic (SP1) Pride (SP2) Luck (SP3) Knowledge Devotion (SP4) [DM is allowing me to sub this for the War Domain due to it being an attack bonus] (haven’t picked a SP 5, looking for suggestions) Spell (Cont1) Animal (Cont6) Feats: Extend Spell (1) Worldly Focus (HF) (1) Persistent Spell (3) Spontaneous Domains (6) Divine Metamagic (Persistent Spell) (9) Extra Turning (12) Divine Spell Power (15) Reach Spell (18) |

The build i used was a very simple one that imho still works very well (it does admittedly use one very cheesy thing, the venomfire spell, which is very broken as written): Human Ninja 1/ Druid 19 with able learner, natural spell (duh , vow of poverty (and the bunch of exalted feats that come with it like the juicy nymphs kiss and intuitive attack) and aberration wildshape. Rest of the feats can be more or less chosen at will, i went for maximize spell and sacred spell. The idea is that he is a decent skillmonkey (ninja + able learner), good melee damage (aberration shape with lots of poison attacks + venomfire), good tanking (decent hitpoints and very good AC between wildshape+exaltedbonus+wisToAc), good spellcasting (up to lvl 9 divine spells), not dependant on magic level of the setting. It also works at every level. At low level pick a beefy animal companion that can be your private BSF. Once wildshape kicks in you can tank/hit for yourself. choose a smaller companion at this point. Myself i prefer a tiny viper with the poison spit/spray feats from serpent kingdoms so it can share venomfire with you and, sitting on your shoulder, drop a 15ft venomfire cone every round. |

Members of this race always come as twins, one soul sharing two bodies. However when you level up, hit points are split up between the two, and if one dies, the other takes permanent Con drain, which can't be treated, until it slowly dies. Not sure if this was what you were looking for, but it would kind of let you go from a two man to a three man party. Just thought I'd throw it out there. |
