character optimization....duh

Apr 09, 2008 17:29:03 my friend is starting an oriental adventures game. i am playing a lawful evil samurai type. i want to prestige into iajitsu master but i think its worthless after level 2. i have come up w/ 3 different builds i might try. please critique and throw helpful suggestions at me. the samurai class i m using is from OA. i do want my character to specialize in iajitsu even if i don't prestige.

warblade 2/ samurai 4/ iajitsu master 2/ ?

rogue 4/ samurai 4/ iajitsu master 2/ ?

Samurai 5/ sorcerer 1/ abjurant champion 1/ iajitsu master 2/ abjurant champion 4

i know there is a board for OA, but i felt char op was more fitting.

i know there is a board for OA, but i felt char op was more fitting.

Samurai5/sorcerer = failpile.

Factotum8/warblade1/Iaijustu Master 5/Bloodstorm Blade4/Crusader2 is my preferred way of handling Iaijutsu, but for you, I'd kinda want to know what role you see yourself playing. Tank? Skill Monkey? Glass Cannon/Assassin?

You definitely want 1 level of Warblade at least, for Sapphire Nightmare Blade. Iaijutsu master really shines when you hit level 5 of it, and can add CHA to EACH DAMAGE DIE..

Apr 09, 2008 19:08:46 Iaijutsu Master is stupidly good. Get Martial Study (Diamond Mind) for Sapphire Nightmare Blade early and you can get an extra Iaijutsu strike off as well as Concentration as a class skill at all levels. Another option that may be possible (and yet may not be) is to mix in Rage for the feats Intimidating Rage, Instantaneous Rage, and Imperious Command to get the "Barbarian's Celerity."
