You shouldn't have too much difficulty building an Erudite. They're pretty awesome.

This is how the board works: You put in the minimal effort to give it your best shot, then others will step in to show you how you can improve upon your concept.

Erudite 20 is fine.
Mind's Eye updates aren't necessary to learn how to play it.
Erudite = Psion , but with slightly different build and tactics.
Mid game Erudite = Psion build ... almost exactly Psion tactics.

Take Elemental Envoy feat at level 1 , but retrain it away at level 6.
Take the Powerstone feat at level 1 , use it all game all levels.
Take Linked Power metapsi feat at level 3 , use it all game all levels.
Turn into Psion ... see the Psion guide on the Psi board.

If your DM doesn't give you opportunities to learn more powers,
you are a Bad Wilder on surprise and first rounds, Bad Psion after.
If your DM does give you opportunities to learn more powers,
you are a Bad Psion on surprise and first rounds, more glittery Psion after.

EDIT --- oh I almost forgot ... I work for cheese, glorious cheese.

If you're working for cheese, should you be advocating the Convert Spell to Power alternative class feature and the quintessence/soul crystal combination?

To clarify, the more info you provide and more work you do on your own, the more you will get in return. For instance, what stat generation method are you using, what level will you be, what books do you have access to, what house rules do you use? All important questions we need answers to before we can start anything.

If you throw out what you'd like to do with this PC, we can focus on that even more.

  • If you had said fighter, we might build you a sword and shield guy, a two weapon guy, or an archer. All valid builds for a "fighter"

  • If you had said dwarven axe fighter, we would know to focus on heavy armor, a two handed axe, and maybe the deepwarden prestige class.

You didn't read the thread, did you? Let me sum it up in four lines.

WE DO NOT DO THIS WORK FOR PAY.

WE DO NOT BUILD YOUR CHARACTERS FOR YOU.

WHAT YOU GET OUT OF THIS FORUM DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH WORK YOU PUT INTO IT.

EVEN IF WE WERE DOING THIS, YOU HAVE NOT SUPPLIED ENOUGH INFORMATION FOR US TO WORK WITH.

I hope that helps. If you provide even some basic information, a starter build, or similar, we might still be able to help you. But we will not do this for money, nor will we do your work for you.

I did not know it was against the rules to pay someone $100 for building a character.

The whole point of these boards is to come with a concept and show at least some effort.

Most will gladly assist in throwing ideas if they have something to work with; else don't be rude. Simply Google-Fu.

Hey --- this is like the d&d version of a Refridgerator.

The cheese will keep literally forever.
And the wrapping is extra sparkly.

Oh!
Have it be cheese made with Minor Creation and
a low enough ML, so it expires before it makes you
... constipated.

The point of the posts explaining how this works to you, (as far as I have gathered) was that people will do this for you for free. If you clarify your request.

No one (smart) wants to give you any of their paypal/credit card info so you can pay them (and most probably steal all their money),

Can you do an erudite build?

It takes a lot of gall to suite a post asking for more information and then provide *less*.
Ability score generation method. Allowed books. Houserules if any. Party composition. Desires role in party and other party members already known. Preferred race. Starting level.

ALL of these are needed before we van even.start to help you, and that help won't.be perfect unless you supply a build of your own first.

Capische?

Here is a fairly solid, classic build by Tleilaxu_Ghola. Just swap telepath with Erudite.

Race: Elan
Build: Telepath 20
Feats: Any, must have EK(Astral Seed) and skill focus (craft [basket weaving])

1. Acquire a loaf of bread (2cp)
2. Turn the bread into a sandwich (craft DC 5) (probably 2 minutes)
3. Polymorph the sandwich (preferably ham with mustard, pepperoni, salami, and jalapenos) into a fuzzy little bunny. (NPC casting 1200 gp) (1 standard action)
4. Cast astral seed (10 minutes)
5. Ritualistically slay yourself with favored method of suicide. Be sure to place your storage crystal next to the sandwich turned bunny. (I prefer to be killed with a dagger to the heart... ) (Approximately 5 rounds)
6. Use mind-switch (the 6th level power) to switch with the rabbit, while in your storage crystal. (1 std action)
7. Metamorph into a troll and smash your storage crystal (now containing the mind of a sandwich). (2 standard actions)
8. Use psychic chirurgery to remove your negative level gotten from committing suicide. (10 minutes) 9. Dismiss your metamorphosis and manifest dispel psionics on yourself (to dispel the polymorph).  (2 standard actions)  thestormwindfallacy.multiply.com/journal...

100$ please?

Thats a legit build that most 3.5 optimizers you talk to will have at least heard of in reference if they don't know the specifics. I think it even won a few contests back in the day, and will totally wow your group.

More importantly it totally fufills your requirements of "Erudite".   If that doesn't fit your requirements please feel free to be more specific.

*Also, I'd be glad to build you a second character once I recieve payment for that first one I gave you.

Done what? I didn't give my payment info, so I don't think you could have paid me once, and definatley not twice. You might want to make sure you didn't send the money to the wrong person.

All this talk about building a ham sandwich makes me hungry.

Also, perhaps the OP took the build posted and paid himself to build it out?
