| #1buburubuJun 03, 2009 4:02:56 | So, regeneration or fast healing seem like immensely handy traits, but I can only seem to find them as natural abilities of various monstrous races like trolls and so forth, or as a temporary ability granted by a spell that could probably be used for a straight healing spell to greater effect. Are there any relatively easy-to-attain feats or abilities from some prestige class somewhere that will grant regeneration or fast healing to a character naturally and permanently? The closest I've found is the Pheonix Belt Totemist ability in Magic of Incarnum, and that only grants Fast Healing if the character resists some fire damage. Or the Feral template from Savage Species, but that seems pretty broken for a balance-oriented DM to allow. Wouldn't need to be so fast as to render a character significantly harder to kill in-combat, but being able to finish one battle and then move on to the next without leaving the dungeon altogether, camping for a night, getting healed up by the cleric, camping for another night to restore their spells, and then coming back for the next battle would be nice. This would be for version 3 or 3.5, btw. Plan on checking out 4th ed. soon enough, but can't really afford to re-buy the books just now. :P Apologies if this is an embarrassingly newbie question, but I just don't have that many of the non-core rulebooks yet. Building the collection up slowly but surely. Thanks! |

Not to mention immunity to crits at level 1. (Complete Adventurer p.90.) This class works really well with the previously mentioned feral template. If a form already has natural weapons then Warshaper allows you to deal damage as if they were one category larger. Also, feral is really fun to roleplay. |

| #7muertogJun 03, 2009 9:11:32 | Pointing people in the correct direction for already posted information is good. :P There is also the reserve feat "Touch of Healing", which helps out w/ between-battle healing for Clerics (and possibly druids, bards). Allows you to heal anyone up to half their max HP as long as you have a healing spell memorized or available. |
| #8jgumbyrxJun 03, 2009 9:31:47 | the "Combat Vigor" feat (PHB2) gives fast healing 2; but requires "Combat Focus" as a prereq., and only works while "focused". goes to fast-healing 4 if you have 3+ "Combat Form" feats. |
| #9buburubuJun 03, 2009 15:40:14 | Cross posting threads is a bad idea. I read the forum rules, they said it was fine, but that more than two was a bad idea. So I did just that. Thanks, though, for taking it upon yourself to scold strangers on the internet. Really, that's classy as hell. |
