Chosen of Mystra, Should I?

Jul 29, 2009 14:31:46 Ok, so here's the problem I'm facing. My DM has recently given me the option to take up the Chosen of Mystra template for my character, or for RP purposes, only the Silver Fire portion of the chosen template. My dilemma is, I'm still on the fence about the boni Vs. level adj.(which is at a generous +4)

For that level adjustment, I gain SLAs, spell immunities, Immunities to Poison, aging, disease, disintigration. Silver Fire, and a massive +10 Con.

My character is currently:
Human Warlock 2/Cloistered Cleric 3/Eldritch Disciple 2(Houseruled to allow Mystra)
str 8, dex 16, con 14, wis 14, int 12, cha 14 +1 unspent level bonus
Feats-Practiced Spellcaster(Cleric), Leadership, Touch of Healing, Maximize SLA

Domains- Spell, Illusion, Knowledge
Least Invocations-See the Unseen, Entropic Warding, Eldritch Spear

Cohort:
Lesser Aasimar Cleric 5/(will be Runecaster 10 eventually)
str 10, dex 12, con 14, int 12, wis 18, cha 16
Feats-Divine Ward, Inscribe Rune
Domains- Spell, Magic

I currently act as a Battery pack for the party, with some buffage on the side. Party currently is

Myself
Big Silly fighter(Who seems to be gearing toward a charge build)
Shadowcaster
Second Cleric of Mystra

I'd also like for help and input on maximizing my character's potential as a caster cleric/warlock. I was originally intending to run more focused on my warlock side, via Hellfire Warlock with 1lvl dip of binder, However, I am thinking of scrapping that to become more clericly focused. This is my first caster character, so I'm not 100% on what would be the right direction to take him, or what would be a good list of spells for myself.

So all Comments and constructive input is greatly appreciated.

Jul 29, 2009 14:40:48 Just snag the silver fire portion, take a level of cleric, and pick up initiate of mystra. It'll be better mechanically and more fun flavor-wise if you can wade through AMFs and spew fire inside them.

Cause, yeah, le's do this.

Jul 29, 2009 16:08:00 alright, thanks, I was planning on picking up the initiate feat eventually. I'd like to ask what other feats I should be looking toward? My goal is to become fairly adept at battlefield control Via Chilling tentacles/barriers/such. Perhaps Divine Metamagic? Or focus on improving my SLA's?
