If I calculate this correctly... we have CL 11 in Bard (4 levels + 4 master spellthief + 3 Krau), so Sublime Chord is CL 28 (10 levels + 11 bard + 4 master spellthief + 3 krau). Then, Bard & Spellthief & Sublime Chord are all 28, so Ur-Priest is CL 55 (10 levels + 3 krau + 28*3/2 arcanes). Am I calculating this incorrectly? I know this is not a new trick, I'm just designing a high-level villain and I'm trying to make sure I've worked it out properly. Thanks everyone! |

If the latter then we have Bard CL 11, Spellthief & Sublime Chord CL 28 and Ur-Priest CL 38. |

That's the thing - I was never an arcane caster optimization expert (my specialities lay in melee and psionics), so I don't remember the exact specifics! That's why I'm hunting for the citation. However, I DO remember Sublime Ur-Priest builds coming out with CL numbers somewhat like these post-errata. I don't remember the exact impact of Master Spellthief on them, though, since by Complete Adventurer I'd totally lost interest in arcane magic. (Here's the references on that.) |
