| #1buszMay 08, 2009 8:18:09 | Hi, im pretty new to this forums. I'm starting a new adventure and i'd like to be a human cleric. My stats are 12, 13 , 16, 17, 14, 14 and We can use 3.0 and 3.5 manuals. Now, i'm searching for a pure healing build but i'm not sure. Someone tell me that a cleric can melee well too. any suggestion? Thank you ![]() |
| #2ashylMay 08, 2009 8:36:42 | Hello First of all, can anyone please post a link to the ''Why you don't need a healer'' thread? Cause I seem to have lost mine.. There are tooons of alternative classes you can play and still manage to do healing, but anyway, to answer your question. A great healer is the Radiant Servant of Pelor , from Complete Divine. And make sure you grab that reserve feat that let you bring team mates to 50% health, it was either from Complete Divine or Champion. And yes, a cleric can melee amazingly well - the Divine power spell for example gives you 4 attacks at lvl 20, add the countless buffs the class has and you can become a beast. Or you can play a debuffer, summoner or generalist caster - the cleric is so versatile that the only limitation you have is what you want to do with your character ![]() |

If you must play a healer, Ashyl is correct. The single best healing class in the game, hands down, is radiant servant of pelor. Not only does it make your heals crazy huge, it bestows upon you a fat stack of cool class features and some bonus domains. As a GM, I must say that I have never seen a happy player who decided to go straight into pure healing. My impulse would be to suggest a Druid. Because druids are flavored with win. |

So basically you are suggesting me to not go into pure healing.. maybe a hibrid melee/healer would be more playable/funny. I've read somewhere about some kind of Divine Metamagic build with persistent spells. Any thoughs about it? And if i decide to go Servant of Pelor, where can i find a build with feats progression, stats ecc? |

That handbook will be a great place to learn more about clerics, but I'm with the others in saying you shouldn't delegate yourself as strictly a healer. Clerics can do so much more, and still heal (if you really want to). Melee clerics have many excellent buff spells. |
