Hey guys I just started a new campaing up as a player, we are going to be doing a couple hombrewed  adventuers before we start return to teh temple of elemental evil. and I am the parties Cleric, a cleric of Nike to be precise.  I just need some help on what feats i should be taking in the future.

right now I have Extra turning and Augment Healing. I might not have a lot fo heals, but my heals are going to be more potent.

at some point I eventually want to take Sacred Healing. other than that Im clueless.

I want my cleric to be  laying down some heavy buffs, and being a melee support character, with heals when needed. just some pointers tossed my way in terms of feats would be great

The natural answers are Extend Spell, Persistant Spell, and Divine Metamagic. That is the typical route for a cleric to turn into CoDzilla.

Another feat that it quite handy is Sacred Vitality. For a use of Turn Undead, you gain immunity to ability damage/drain and energy drain for one minute, which is far longer than most combats.

Lastly, I recommend going through Complete Champion. There are many things in there that could come in handy.

Thanks, but I am more looking to be a party-buff cleric, than the clericzilla.  I don't want to load up on self buffs to make our fighter be dead weight.

Uh...I think the point Sleepy is trying to make with the metamagics listed above is that they can be used for buffing everybody, not just you.  The perfect PrC for you would be War Weaver from Heroes of Battle, if only it wasn't just for arcane casters.  Though the Combat Medic from the same book might also be the way to go.

Sad to say, but really there are no feats to really help with this. Those same DMM feats can be used for party buffs instead of self buffs. Extend spell enlarge person or bulls strength or something.

Outside of that take whatever feats look neat. Reserve feats are always nice. I think there is one to spontaneously do domains? That is handy for spell prep in the mornings.

Darn, i was hoping there would be some neat-o fears out there than what I already was going after.

and  isn't it safer, cheaper, and easier to just say.. buy wands of enlarge, bless, bull strength etc than spending my turn uses to make those spells last all day?    meta magiced wands of course.

What else are you planning to use your turn attempts for?

The need to Turn Undead comes up too infrequently to be held in reserve. Most of the time, the undead you are fighting will be either too strong to turn, or too weak to bother turning.

That aside, clerics already have a lot of spells to deal with undead. To a certain extent, the number of splatbooks out there with anti-undead spells almost removes the need to use Turn Undead.

Your turn uses are better spent fueling your magic, thereby saving you the need to spend gold on what you can do for free.

Besides, when in doubt, Mass Cure Critical Wounds will put a damper on any undead's day Laughing

K thank you all.    Is casting a full day praery a good idea, it gives a luck bonus and can stack if say I wanna give a heroism or such later?

also  if I cast my persisted spells into a spell sotring device  during down time... thats a good diea too right?

in case  we run up against a dispeller or such.

Probably a good Idea for spell storing, have you read the posts about healing in combat. I'll simply say that healing during combat isn't optimal. I don't know about Nike, but if you're a neutral cleric, you have all the fun. A great little help for clerics are healing belts.
