| #1zombie_duck_dupApr 17, 2009 9:32:40 | I want to plat something I never really got to play before a simple cleric. Well maybe not a simple one, but I never played a cleric before. One if the guys in my group was talking about running an Eberron game. We want all of use to pick a Dragonmarked House and play a character based on it. We don' t have to be from different house or the same, nor do we have to take the dragonmarked feats. The thing is I was the first in the group to get in to Eberron and it quickly be came my favorite setting, and like any good nerd I read every novel and campaign book I got my hands on. This made me want to play a character that had more on the ball then the others. The idea be hide the character is that he is a agent sent by Vol herself to being about her will one the world. The thing is most of the people (seekers) and may of the priest that worship Vol don't know the truth behind the cult. Most think it is about renouncing normal goods and finding the divine within, but in reality the whole cult is real a tool for a Half-Dragon Lich, named Vol, to get revenge on the dragons and Undying Court that wiped out her family line, the thirteenth dragonmarked house. So, I want my character to be in the know and to be a powerful spellcaster. I was think a guy that is more of a charmer then necromancer. I don't think I am going to be stuck in the role a party healbot so maybe a cleric that has a more combat and social favored spell list. The things or ideas I want to work into the character, are one he is a cleric. I don't really want to change that fact unless I find The idea has gone completely to hell. I was thinking about going with the cloistered cleric variant. I am not really in to taking two levels in every class to get a bunch of short term power, I am looking for a solid build that leads some where. I know this is the Optimization board and most of what you see here is just that. So, please if your just going to post to tell me that or that along those lines don't waste mine or your time. Another thing I am looking for is good feat tree suggestions. I could use help finding the more nasty spells. I was thinking about the prestige class Master of Shrouds. But, I don't really know if it fits my character idea. I am also planning on taking leadership at sixth level so that I can get a bodyguard. Was thinking maybe a simple fighter and prestige class for him but an anti-paladin may work too. Not really sure on him yet still trying to work out the cleric ideas before I get in to him, but if you have an idea for both shout it out sometime building two characters that work off each other is easier then one. But, please no Tome of Battle builds I really did like that book and while I am at it, Psionics is out too, DM hates it. Thanks for any help |

A real powerhouse in the L6-L12 range, but suffers a bit after that (though is still playable). Cleric 5 / Divine Oracle 3 / Sacred Exorcist 2 / Contemplative 10 is a solid build. Since you want to actually know Vol, Contemplative is easy. The Tyranny domain seems to fit your "charm spell" idea. Lots of Dominate spells there. I'd take the Spontaneous Domain spell to make that more than 1/day. Charm domain works, too. I'm sure others can do more. I'm not that familiar w/ the Eberronian PrCs. |

JWM's suggestion is good, though I'd drop Sacred Exorcist since I'm guessing you won't be good. Cloistered Cleric 6/Divine Oracle 4/Contemplative 10 for instance. |
