| #1priereDec 18, 2008 1:48:50 | So I'm in a bit of a snag. I more or less have a character progression planned but I'm missing that cornerstone that will let it all work.

| #2thedragonmasterDec 18, 2008 3:28:15 | The "Clerics cannot take Devotion feats for a Domain their patron does not possess" is pretty much consistent with the wording in Complete Champion, although it uses the wording "guidelines"... so I guess you are right... ...now my question is: Why a Chaotic or Evil god? You only need to be within one step of your patrons alignment (barring Heretic of Faith, but that's "FR material" iirc (but so is the whole "Clerics must worship a Deity" thing... nevermind)), so couldn't you just worship Fharlanghn as Chaotic Neutral or Neutral Evil? |

Because of Eldritch Disciple. Entry requirements specify a Chaotic or Evil deity. So this narrows my choices down considerably. Olidammara is a possibility but I'm trying to avoid it. Not overly fond of the flavor for it (gasp! I know) so if I can get something other than him I'll gladly jump on it. Though of course, if push comes to shove I will end up using him and working my design around it. |

I wouldn't come with something so nebulous if I didn't already wrack my brain over it. ;) I had found websites with oodles of obscure Greyhawk deities but a number of them do not have Domains listed. In truth, I'm not overly knowledgeable of the lore behind Greyhawk and so the deities elude me. If it weren't for the Eldritch Disciple requirements there have been a number of non-Good deities who's portfolios would have made for an interesting springboard to base the character off of but that damned prestige class makes things agitating. |
