Basically this is a way that a person could put a mage into a fighters body (having awesome physical stats and mental stats). The idea behind this is that you build a mage that can cast at least level 5 spells, then you need to find someone with a body that you can copy (best case, you find a fighter who has 8's or worse in mental, and 18's or better in physical). after you find a suitable body, you can make a clone via the "clone" spell (pg 210 PHB), you can do this yourself if you can cast that lvl of spell (total cost this way is 1,500), or it is an additional cost of 1,800 or so to get someone else to cast it for you. So now you have your character, who has horrible physical stats, but great mental stats. You also have a lifeless body that has great physical stats, but horrible mental stats. Then if you cast Magic Jar (lvl 5 Sor/Wiz) (pg 250 PHB) at least the way I read Magic Jar, you could take over the super-body with your super-mind. there are 2 potential problems with this: 1: the DM might rule (and you could argue that if RAW) that the body needs to have a life force in it already, and that you can't take over a corpse. And to my knowdlage there is no spell (besides animate object or animate dead, neither of which isn't what we want) that will give life to a dead body (effectively creating a soul) 2: If the person who you cloned dies he might want the clone body back, although to counter this you could have him pay for a new clone (possibly agree on this before the first clone is made) Then you can cast Leomund's secret chest to stash your body, and run around as a mage in a fighters body, not only that but if your fighters body dies, you wake up in your chest (how you are getting out could be tricky) so you are almost impossible to kill. The major downside is that (aside from potential prolbems) you have to cast 2 level 5 spells a day, but that is a small price to pay. If anyone can see any other problems, or a way to fix on of my problems with this, help would be much appreciated. |

Personally, I suggest being a high level cleric with UMD ranks and using a Golem Manual to build a Greater Stone Golem, then hire someone to cast Stone to Flesh on it so that you can use Magic Jar (or use a scroll, you only need to do it once). Now, each day, cast Persistent (via Divine Metamagic) Greater Spell Immunity on yourself, and make sure to include all of your weakness on the list of spells you're immune to. Note that, due to the way Spell Resistance works, you bypass your own immunities, so you can still cast it. |
