| #1auorix_dupMar 19, 2008 17:44:32 | I had fun playing this char as part of a short few sessions and thought I would write it up here for both advice and for a good read (for those of you who like it at least). Abilities 32 pt buy Str 11 (Have to carry equipment) Dex 14 (Was 15 for archer feats, had to sacrifice) Con 12 (Positive modifier )Int 14 (Had 15 until words of creation was not allowed at creation, possible later) Wis 11 (Remainder points) Cha 16 (Would have liked and 18 or higher but not possible) |
| #2auorix_dupMar 19, 2008 17:45:02 | The group begins knowing each other and the corpse gets word that something is wrong in a quite little town to the north of the city of greyhawk. The corpses relatives are involved so we decide to head out and check into things. We arrive in the town, secure some rooms and head out to the halfling caravan located just on the city outskirts. My char is off learning the halfling dance and instruments while the discussion is going on but overheard the mention of donations have been falling off from some of the halflings. We narrow things down to speaking to the captain of the guard tomorrow morning. Head in, get some sleep, wake for the morning, and speak with the captain. He gives us the job of checking out an abandoned cottage to the north. We spend some time looking around the village asking people about the cottage and about any other odd things going on...make some friends, they donate a few things to our cause...holy water, scrolls of halt undead, healing wand...interesting selections. Heading out down the road that afternoon, we come to the first famers house along the road and his recently slaughtered sheep. Large wolflike footprints and deep slashing cuts on the animals. After some deliberation we narrow down it might be some gnolls in the area...and perhaps worgs. Questioning the old man and his sons didnt offer any more information other than the backroad to the cottage. Its decided since we are payed up at the inn a few days to head back there and start out again the next morning. Worgs! We set out the following day and link up with the back trail heading deep into forgotten woods. A thin winding path flanked by dying trees. The foilage is still enough to slow our movement off the trail and uneven footing to knock us off balance. OOM corpse, BSF, gimp/BSF #1, gimp/BSF #2, myself, gimp/druid. The corpse is real jumpy for some reason, he dives for cover at the slightest stir of a leaf. We turn a corner, spot fail #1, fail #2...3...4 and last but not least gimp/druid currently in an animal form fails. Suspense! Then the druid is near death after a crit bite from the worg...not looking good. But it forgot to trip her. Surprise round over, guess who goes first...damn worgs and their good rolls. Swing and a miss on the druid...it was going for a trip this time. Im up first and with bow and wand in hand already swift action the wand for inspirational boost, sing the song of inspire courage, move action the wand under my chain shirt, free knowledge check (bah only +2 from Knowledge devotion) end turn and use my immediate action to activate the Badge of Valor. Allies now have +3 to hit/dmg/vs fear and charm...I have +5 vs worgs right now. Druids gets back and shifts back to place a heal on herself, aided by one of the gimp/BSF. gimp/BSF #2 delays a move so that BSF with slowed movement due to flaws and armor can get by without going into difficult terrain. Turn ends but the BSF in between myself and the worg. Round 2 it attempts to trip the BSF and cant hit. I fire off a dragonsbreath arrows and it makes it save against being set fire so I do my 8 or so dmg and rapid fire my second shot which misses. End my turn and use my immediate action to use my Good devotion to give all allies DR 1/evil and align their weapons good. Rest of the allies are moving into position/healing the druid or in the corpses case, figuring out whats going on. Round 3 the worg bolts into the undergrowth. Im up and activate my travel devotion to take a move as a swift action every round for a min...not gonna let this one slip away. Using my move even in the difficult terrain, I stay within point blank range and loose another dragonsbreath...it fails its save and takes 7 arrow, 5 fire total 12 and is burning. I rapid shot and with a solid blow it takes 10 dmg from that arrow. Just enough to drop the beast. I proceed to make a reflex and put out the fires. |

| #4ChristopherGrovesMar 19, 2008 18:07:27 | I applaud the Cleric 1 dip. |
| #5auorix_dupMar 19, 2008 18:40:29 | technically you can't select craft wondrous at 3rd, you dont have CL 3. At first it was a straight bard so the CL would have worked but I threw in the cleric dip last min after reading ChristopherGroves cleric dip thread and just forgot to take it out...thing is though it is needed in the group and its likely I will be allowed to keep it since I could just retrain for it at 4th. Will question the DM on it. |
