| #1lordofteaMay 14, 2008 5:46:34 | yup another CO diary Our group has recently started a new campaign, and for the first time in over a year, I get to play instead of dm. The party will start at level 8. The campaign is set in continent that is divided in an 'evil' and a 'good' country, with most of the 'savage' races living in the evil country. the country is ruled by nobles, with a king to oversee it all. Dragons are known to be mayor advisors for these nobles. This is all that we know about this country for now. I've made a focused transmuter, banning enchantment, evocation and illusion. I'm going to be focusing on buffing/debuffing (hence the title). My goal is going to be to maximise the party damage output and minimising damage input. Of course, there will be room for general utility and such. here is my build Show grey elf focused specialist 2/master specialist 3/ geometer 2/paragnostic apostle 1 1Focused specialist (scribe scroll, summon familliar), 3 banned schools Feats: spell focus, sculpt spell, easy metamagic (sculpt spell). flaws: non combatant, inattentive 2focused specialist 3 master specialist (skill focus: spellcraft) Feat: empower spell 4: master specialist (exp. Spellbook) 5: master specialist: greater school focus 6: geometer (glyph of warding, spellglyph) Feat: heighten 7: geometer (book of geometry) 8: paragnostic apostle: mind over matter, lore 9: paragnostic apostle penetrating insight Feat: ? 10: paragnostic apostle accurate retort 11: Paragnostic apostle manifest ethos (good) 12: Paragnostic apostle (open) |

| #3tshernMay 14, 2008 5:56:30 | Looking forward to the recaps, J Everlasting rations (iedere dag 1 ration voor de dag) So you are having a Dutch conspiracy of some sort brewing here, huh? Seriously though, I look forward to this. I was supposed to play in a campaign with a Focused Transmuter and I have a decent list of good transmutation spells and I can post them here if you want. Edit: Oh yeah, check this. That list is made of awesomesauce. |

| #5lordofteaMay 14, 2008 6:44:03 | So you are having a Dutch conspiracy of some sort brewing here, huh? dang! I thought I had erased all traces of our demonic conspiracy. also, I'd love to see that list, for 30 gp per spell, I can afford to scribe a few more. and CantripN's list is just about mandatory, I've read it. Thanks for the list though ![]() |
| #6tshernMay 14, 2008 6:51:18 | I'll find my sheet and post stuff here either later today or then tomorrow. Nerveskitter is something you want to get your hands on. |
| #7lordofteaMay 14, 2008 7:00:59 | So you are having a Dutch conspiracy of some sort brewing here, huh? isn't that one round only? I've heard about the apparant awesomeness of nerveskitter, but I don't see how a lvl 2 heroics for imp. initiative isn't a lot better, considering it's far longer duration. |
| #8tshernMay 14, 2008 7:16:56 | Combine them. Nerveskitter is the kind of spell you prepare once or twice and use it when you really need to go first. You know, when you have to cast Dimensional anchor on someone before he escapes or just generally pwn the brains out of that BBEG. |

| #11lordofteaMay 18, 2008 12:47:29 | well, this session was good, bad and ugly the good Show The specialised hydra-killing spellist worked like a charm. Deva scouted the wrecked town, looking for the hydra. She found it, healing its wounds in a nearby forest. it was a vanilla 11headed. We went there, I buffed the barbarian with the following spells Show heroics x3 for improved bull rush, shock trooper, leap attack mage armor haste polymorph (8headed hydra) |
| #12bowensilverclaw1986May 18, 2008 14:42:41 | Great read-up, J ![]() Just one minor nitpick: even if Heroics stacks for multiple feats, you can only use it to grant fighter bonus feats, right? Leap Attack isn't a fighter bonus feat ;) ~Bowen |
| #13lordofteaMay 18, 2008 15:12:35 | Great read-up, J That's what you get for not double checking. Not that it really mattered though, it was a major overkill anyway. Thanks for the head up. |
