Purpose of the thread:
Help protecting your characters and at a final making a character that will be immune to anything regardless of his levels for the lowest price and ecl.

Rules of the thread:
  • It will be an list of effects and the task is to write a source to each effect, that make character immune to this type of harm.
  • Source must be item or spell.
  • For each source it must be spell level or price.
  • Every source must have a name of book where it is from.

Special thanks to Twice-Betrayer of Shar thread that encouraged me to make this thread.

Once per day I will update this thread.

Effects:
Death from Damage
Delay Death spell4,3 (PHB2,MiniHB)

The spell Stone Body is great for this. It is 6th level, and I think it was from CArc, and might also be in the Spell Compendium (away from books). It gives the following, IIRC:

Immune to Blindness, Criticals, Ability Damage, Deafness, Disease, Drowning, Electricity, Poison, Stunning, and physiological effects
1/2 damage from Fire and Acid
1/2 movement

It is personal, and so can be made persistent.

I think there is an item in the BoVD that makes you immune to the effects of Pain. I'll check later and update this.

Heroes' Feast (6th level) in the PHB gives immunity to poison and fear for 12 hours.

Yeah, as I've said before that thread encouraged me to make this one. But now I want to improve it and make it useful for low-mid level characters, because if you are high-level it isn't a problem(shapechange, etc.)
// blindness/deafness and critical hit categories added
// Stone Body is from PGtF, RoF

Disease: Paladin Lvl3 (PHB)
Fear: Paladin Lvl3 (PHB)
Sleep/Paralysis: Elf Race (PHB), or Dragon Type (MM)
Damage: Frenzied Berzerker PrC (CW)
Lots of Stuff: Construct Type (MM) (Warforged Race? (EbCS))
Lots of Stuff: Undead Type (MM)
Dazing: Mark of the Dauntless (EbCS?)
Lethal Damage: Regeneration + Immunity to the element your Regeneration doesn't work against. (Half-Dragon Wartroll and similar things.)

I'm sure there is much more, but this is all I can come up with at the moment.

Yeah, I was planning a character that would possess a War Troll via Magic Jar, and then use Stone Body + lots of acid protection and other buffs to be immune to almost everything.

Slightly off-topic:
If I were going for "immunity to everything", I'd probably start with a Gheden (Dragon Magazine - Gives Immunity to Non-Lethal and a bunch of other things whilst keeping a Con score.) as a base race with the Troll-Blooded Feat (also Dragon Magazine - Gives Regeneration 1 but Fatigues you in Sunlight.). Whilst this requires you to get Immunity to both Fire and Acid some other way, it only gives you a Level Adjustment of +1.

Immunity to nonlethal damage - Favor of Illmater. MoF (Favor of Illmater actually protects against a lot of things)
Immunity to pain - Rose...something. Roseward? Lathander spell.
Immunity to lethal damage - Any form of regeneration, such as Monstrous Regeneration. MoF.
Regeneration + Immunity to nonlethal = Immunity to all damage

Ironward / Greater Ironward provide immunity to metal
And of course, Timeless Body (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/timelessBody.htm) which makes one immune to pretty much all of the categories you got there. Might deserve a special mention.

Favor of the MARTYR in SPC. Bland version.
Life Ward: Protects from positive energy. Cleric 4 SPC
Sheltered Vitality: Protects from ability damage/drain, without causing arcane spell failure. SPC, again. Druids, at least, probably Clerics too.

I like Cover. Most things cant get past full cover. In order to get it I might use a Permanent Rune of Wings of Cover. With the new ruling regarding item cast spells, you should be able to use this once per round.12,000 GP to purchase.
Runecaster appears in the players Guide to Faerûn.

Tower Shields (PHB)and Hide Shields(Sandstorm) both offer full cover, but take up full round actions. You cant get anyone else to use them for you, but you might be able to get someone else to carry a door or something.

The Familiar Carrier,(Tome and Blood) comes in Medium, and granyts alkinds of cover. Hard to fight from, but not impossible.

One last trick. Become undead, or fake it. then use Haunt Shift. Possess a custom built,ultra-sturdy manikin body. They might break your body, but if you build it right, its unlikely.Details here:http://http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=944175

Troll (MM I) >> Regeneration (Ex)
Half-Dragon (Red) ((MM I)) >> Immune to Fire (Ex)
Half-Dragon (Green) ((MM I))>> Immune to Acid (Ex)
Captured One (Shrapnyl{sp?}) ((MM II))>>Construct Traits (Ex). Specifically has a Con score
Half-Golem (Stone) ((MM II))>> Magic Immunity (Ex)
Half-Golem (Flesh/Clay/Iron) ((MM II))>> Magic Immunity (Ex)

So, we have a Troll with Regeneration who is Immune to Fire and Acid damage. He possesses Construct Traits which make him immune to a whole slew of things, not to mention that he now no longer takes Subdual Damage. He also has two Half-Golem templates, which provide him with overlapping, and mutually exclusive, Magic Immunities.

Enjoy :D

P.S. I just came up with this concept on Saturday. Really, it was something that was on my mind...*shrug*

Captured Ones let you keep a Con score? Wow. My unnecessarily complicated Ikea Tarrasque is obsolete now. Good work, sir. No need to take Half-Green dragon if you take Half-Clay Golem, though.

Wouldn't this be more complete if we included feats and class ablilities? At least prc abilities.
Why only items and spells?

Shapechange (PHB) into a Zodar (Fiend Folio)? Immune all but to bludgeoning damage.

Also, Favor of the Martyr (Spell Compendium) makes you immune to dazing and pain effects. 4th level Paladin spell.

I have a pretty good listing of the various "immunity to" effects in my Lists of Stuff thread, amoung other things.

You are missing a form of death: Awesome. Dying due to overexposure to the Positive Energy Plane. MM3 and Manual of the Planes. Nothing short of being damaged can prevent it, as far as I am aware.

The haunt shift/hardness trick is really good for this sort of thing. Construct immunities and a hardness of about 80? Yes please

Sinfire: AFB, but what about Life Ward? Or something that acclimates you to planar effects (Though that might not prevent death-by-awesome from the templated creatures that live there/are summoned from there).

Ah, forgot about that spell (Protection from Positive Energy). Spell Compendium FTW.

Would just like to quickly point out that the spell "Vision of the Omniscient Eye" got listed as providing immunity to "daze" but in fact protects against dazzling, as has been correctly noted in this thread, but just got mis-filed.

Great thread though! Now we just need more ways to become immune to daze than Favour of the Martyr, which is such a pain for a celerity-using wizard to acquire.
