| #1SixGunLoverAug 15, 2011 21:08:46 | Hey everybody, First of all I'd just like to thank everyone for their help in the past. I'm making a new gestalt character and have decided to go with a Human Spell-to-Power Erudite on one side and Factotum 11 on the other (for the passive abilities, extra actions and ability to ignore spell/power resistance and damage reduction). I have a few questions and I humbly ask your help. 1) What should I fill the rest of the build out with? Should I dip one level into Psionic Artificer for crafting? And perhaps add at least two levels of Chameleon so I can have the swappable feat at the start of the day to use on crafting. I could then potentially craft and learn any arcane/psionic spell/power I could craft (and afford the gold and XP for), right? 2) Can I choose the Erudite alternate class feature Favored Discipline on "Spell" to treat arcane spells (which are then converted) as general powers, thus granting access to 9th-level arcane spells (to powers)? 3) Is the Mantled Erudite (Magic) alternate class feature worth taking? It's mentioned on a few Erudite threads I researched, but usually as a means of getting access to spellcasting PrCs etc, which seems a controversial topic that I don't want to revive here. 4) Any other tips, tricks, hints or advice would be welcome. Many thanks in advance to those who respond, you guys are great. |

My thrall would either be a Wizard/Mage of the Arcane Order (for access to the Spell Pool so I can learn these spells as powers) or a Psionic Artificer (who would craft scrolls and power stones for me to learn from as well as items), and Warblade is for passive abilities and (according to my rudimentary calculations) access to 9th level ToB maneuvers at an initiator level of 18 (I'd focus on Diamond Mind and White Raven). Is this a good build from an optimization stand point? |

This lets you "piss around" a bit with the other side. I'd recomend going wit the pisonic Artificer as Spell pool dosen't actualy give you any real knowlegde of the spell just lets it be cast. So would only be good for casting to make scrolls and as a back up mage. Where as a Psionic Artificer can provide all the scrolls you need and with UPD as a calss skill make the most of ouf of item they or you make. Admitedly I'm not heavily read up on ToB stuff so you;d have to use your best judgement there. Though Ur-Preist maybe more fun than it 9th lvl devine spells early and past that point coudl well help but youd need to drop 2 factorum levels and that might rob the factorum of some of it's staying power here. |

How can I gain access to 9th level arcane powers or divine spells? Ur Priest is out since the character will be good in alignment and Ur Priests must be evil. |

There is the good version of Ur-preist but I recall it being harder to get into. Warmage/Rainbow Severent gets all warmage and cleric spells the cleric only are cast as devine the wiz over lap remain arcane. Possablely taking the ranger or paladin PrC wand sword of the arcane order lets you gain all wiz spells too. Requires some cheese to work but should work from level 14 though I'm iffy if Rainbow Servent is 10/10 or 6/10 caster level wise. |
