| #1chibishuffleMay 11, 2008 17:37:44 | Hello Ill get the prereqs out of the way before I ask for advice: Books allowed: everything with the exception of ToB and SpC Setting Forgotten Realms Current group: warmage 5, rogue 4 (TWF), cleric (war, community) 6, me paladin 5 and newly added ranger 4 (TWF) I'd like to note here that this is the build I am currently playing and have been for some time. As such the stats below are set in stone as it were. As is my choice of prestige class. I intend to at my next level go into consecrated harrier after some significant retraining. What Im looking to do is make the most out of that PrC to that end I have some questions, before that though let me supply my current build. Alexander Westgate, Lesser Aasimar paladin 5 STR 18 DEX 12 CON 12 INT 10 WIS 15 CHA 16 Feats: 1) Track, 3) power attack I was not allowed to take the charging smite variant so I kept the special mount and Im currently riding a Cormyrean Destrier named Bucephalus. The character was built to be a frontline fighter he THF with a heavy mace. The mace itself is a +2 impacting weapon that grants me improved initiative and at 6th will grant me leadership as the feat. My cohort will most likely be a transmuter. The DM is very particular in what he does and doesn't allow. I am in now way speaking ill of him but when you guys give me ideas please keep that in mind. Further he hates it when we dip into classes or PrCs for the abilities to that end I intend to take all of consecrated harrier. Also note that the DM has added survival as a class skill for the harrier. My questions are: 1) What feats do you feel I should take in order to best optimize the characters frontline fighterness? 2) How should I allocate skill points? Looking at the PrC Im thinking ranks in bluff, search would work and survival as well. 3) I'd like to find some kind of mesh between the paladin abilities I currently have and the harrier stuff Ill be getting. Im not sure however what in those two categories will interact well. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated. yours, chibi PS: As for after the harrier, I haven't gotten that far yet. I had considered going divine disciple and pump my paladin casting. |

It has slightly faster spell progression than the Paladin, as I remember. Also, what you need is a way to make the Consecrated Harrier levels stck with Paladin levels for things like Smite, Lay on Hands etc. As a DM I wouldn't have any problem with just ruling that "it does". It is a flavorful but sub-optimal combination. But if there is a feat, etc out there to help, you'd have a stronger case. The Hospitaler may be an option for after the Harrier. Costs two feats, though. For spellcasting, you'd really be better off with a level of Cleric first if you want to pump spellcasting. 5 levels of Cleric casting is better than 10 levels Paladin casting. |
