Converting Spells to AoEs

Is there any ability, class feature, feat, or racial perk that will either add a secondary effect with an aoe to one of your spells, or simply turn a non-aoe spell into an aoe spell? It doesn't have to actually turn the spell's main effect into an aoe, it just needs to make it qualify as an area spell.

All I could find was:

Earthbound spell: Not really.
Recaster: Close, but not quite.
War Weaver: At fifth level, spells cast through your tapestry move up a range category.

I was sort of hoping to be able to hack my way around the restriction on arcane archer, but I suppose I should have known that if it could be done, it'd have been done.

Chain Spell metamagic feat sorta does that. I think there's also some sort of metamagic feat that can alter the area of effect, but I'm not sure if it can make a single-target spell into an AoE.

I did look over chain spell, but it alone doesn't work. I couldn't figure out if there was a way to play off of chain spell with another set of metamagics or class abilities, though. My gut is saying no right now, but I'm just one whereas GleeMax Is Many.

What the heck is the area of an earthbound spell?
What's its range? Adjacent? I know that's a stretch, but...

The only other lead I could find was the lens of widening, which is a marvelous item but appears by my reading to only have nine uses. Further, it doesn't affect the spell as we cast it or as we prepare it, so it doesn't change what we can do with arcane archer. Can that be changed\fixed\hacked around?

As far as I can tell, there's no way to change a spell's range from personal to touch, is there?

Smiting spell will let us fire non-ranged touch spells from our bow, including heal and many other goodies, but that's not really enough for my purposes. I'm sure this is almost impossible, in fact, I'm sure it's impossible. But if a sandwich can fly..........

You can change the AoE of a spell with sculpt spell, and there are feats that create an AoE effect with casting a spell (I'm thinking Cloudy Conjuration) - but I know of no way to make a non-AoE spell into AoE.

So far, I've found master specialist(abjurer) and I think that's pretty much it. Rings of Spellsharing do something similar but do not actually change the targeting classifier. There's thousands of pages of splatbooks, and I just find it hard to believe that no one made a mistake somewhere. I guess we'd have found it by now, but it doesn't seem like a big deal initially, so.........................

There is a reason that there is no way to change the effect of a spell from a single to an area. There are FAR too many spells out there that would be disgusting if you could do so.
Biggest offender I can think of would be the "no save, no SR" variety of single-target spells.

This I know. I mean, it's sort of a ridiculous search, but sometimes I get a little bullheaded. That said, it's apparently considered at least a capstone ability, and the only class with it is the PrC master specialist when you pick abjuration. So chances are there's nothing out there other than a few non-duplicable effects from items.

Homebrew Metamagic Feat:

Area Spell [Metamagic]
Benefit: You may change a ray spell or a single-target spell so its area is a 20' radius spread. An area spell uses a slot of 3 levels higher.

I chose 3 levels higher because I believe Chain Spell should be +1 or +2.
