Inspired by syrazemyla thread [here] I thought it would be nice to see what other first-level character you guys can come up with.

So what is the coolest/funiest/strongest first-level character you can make?

Assume everything is allowed, and also assume I know about pun pun.

A gnome riding inside a medium armor, animated by an Unseen Servant. Really hard to make work, but since you're a full caster, and have total cover, I think there should be ways.

Well, inspired by the Trouserfang Dwarf, here's a pretty cool 1st level character taking that idea and making into a playable 1st level character.

Dick Johnson, 1st level Deep Dwarf Cleric

Stats: Max out Con, then go for Str and Wis

Domains:
Dwarf: Gain Great Fortitude as a feat!
Pride: Reroll any natural 1 on a save!

Feats:
1st character: Poison Healer (FC I, prereq: Great Fortitude)

Strategy: assuming a 20 Con, Dick has +5+3+2+2 = +12 to his Fortitude saves. A tiny viper's poison is DC 10, so Dick only fails on a 1 - and he can reroll 1's on a save thanks to the Pride domain - so he will only be poisoned if he rolls two natural 1's in a row. Meanwhile, the Poison Healer feat lets you heal your Con Modifier (+5) every time you successfully resist a poison.

So Dick buys a large amount of tiny vipers and stuffs them down his pants. Whenever he needs healing, he slaps his crotch enthusiastically, and waits for the healing to commence. :embarrass :embarrass :D

See this thread for what has come before.

My personal favorite 1st level character is one I created (not in that thread), which can create/control a total of 24 HD of zombies at level one.

It's not crazy awesome, as some TO stuff may be, but as a thought experiment, for a friend who was thinking of running a new 1st level campaign, I built a Focused Specialist Conjurer with Percocious Apprentice(Melf's Acid Arrow), knowledge devotion, and Acidic Splatter as his 1st level feats (one flaw).

With the high number of spells available and an at-will unlimited use Su that hit's as hard as a greatsword, from range, it was pretty potent in some test scenarios.

Incarnum offers many opportunities for a low-level character. Especially the Shape Soulmeld feat, which is like a tiny dip into an incarnum class without losing your own class features.

A good soulmeld to get with that is Rageclaws, which basically doubles to triples your usable HP, and is better and cheaper than Diehard. Dissolving spittle and lightning gauntlets give you ranged and melee touch attacks that hit as hard as a shortsword (and if you have essentia, they hit as hard as a greatsword). Incarnate weapon is basically a weapon that can't be lost, stolen, or broken, and becomes magical if you have essentia. You can fly (airstep sandals), teleport (blink shirt), or walk on water (cerulean sandals), or become immune to bull rush (shedu crown), flanking (threefold mask of the chimera), disease (pauldrons of health), or domination (planar ward). It's better than Skill Focus for a bunch of skills.

Now as you go up in levels, these bonuses become less useful without essentia added to them, which is precisely why you retrain the Shape Soulmeld feat when you feel you're done with it.

One character I used for a first level duel was a 1st level Wizard who sold his spellbook (worth well over 5kgp, as it has all 0 level spells in it) and used the money to buy a tower shield and a ton of riding dogs. The dogs can easily tear apart any competition.

You know, alcohol is a poison.

...You know, I could see a DM allowing that sort of a poison healer.

"Medicine"
"Healing Potion"
etc.

Now I have a vision of this poison healer cleric going into drunken master. That would be hilarious.
