Yeah, two core only builds by carnivore there.

Oh well, Orc Bard 4/Barbarian 1/Dragon Disciple 10/Barbarian +5, or something. You'll need Cha of 14, but rest can go to STR/CON.

Has attack bonus equal to fighter up to level 5, once he's singing, gets "Immunity to melee" spell at level 4, 8 2nd level slots, STR starts out, presuming a 18, at 22, 23 at 4, 25 at 7, 26 at 8, and 31 at 15, 32 at 16 and finally 33 at 20. Without items or rage. With standard stuff, a book and rage, it's 48.

Add to that natural AC, natural weapons, ex flight, and so on...
...well, you're still a BSF. but, wading to melee in levels 4-9 should be nice due to very high STR, decent HP and access to Mirror Image and Heroism. Level 15 is, of course, another natural sweet spot. You should do in an actual game just fine...
Albeit, I am a bit worried about stats... the sacrificial need for a 14 on Charisma hurts a lot, so depends on your choices. Mind you, the same build works fine as a bardbarian for any decent melee race.

Nah, there was a lot older thread than that that was strict core 3 only. The thread at BG has all the stuff from UA included, as well as psionics (everything at d20srd.org). Unfortunately I don't have a link to the original thread, and it is long since deceased I'm sure, anyway.
