#1 calisto Nov 03, 2008 16:57:10	I was just wondering what is the highest someone could get on their craft skill. bonuses and all of that. I haven't seen to many bonuses to the craft skill.
#2 jaronk Nov 03, 2008 17:11:38	The Divine Insight spell gives a +15 to any skill check. On an Archivist (Int based class) you should have a very high check. Also, Factotums are Int based and can add their class level to any skill check once per day if they have ranks in the skill, so that would work too, and they can cast Magecraft for a +5. JaronK

#4 jaronk Nov 03, 2008 22:07:20	Also note that Divine Insight can be cast on others, so a Factotum with a Cleric buddy could get obscenely high checks. And sure, throw in a Bard too, and maybe a Marshal with Motivate Intelligence. JaronK

Rank + Intelligence + Racial + Feats + Circumstance(s) + Competence + Insight + Morale + Luck + Profane/Sacred + Alchemical + Unnamed * N If you're an Int based caster, there's rarely any reason to take more than 5-10 actual ranks in a Craft skill. At that rank, you can generally take 10 and have no problems meeting the 20(or less) DC most items have. The only thing more rank/bonuses gets you once you beat the DC is faster creation, but you can (and should) use Fabricate when you need it on the hurry. My bonuses (with wizards) generally look like (at low to mid levels)... Take 10 + Rank 5 + Intelligence 5 + Racial 0 + Feats 0 + Circumstance(s) 2 (tools) + Competence 1 (Ioun Stone) + Insight 0 + Morale 0 + Luck 1 (Luckstone) + Profane/Sacred 0 + Alchemical 0 + Unnamed * N 0 = 24 At high levels, it's more like... Take 10 + Rank 5 + Intelligence 10 + Racial 0 + Feats 0 + Circumstance(s) 6 (tools + aid from 2) + Competence 5 (Comp 5 item) + Insight 15 (Divine Insight) + Morale 2 (persist Heroism) + Luck 1 (Luckstone) + Profane/Sacred 0 + Alchemical 0 + Unnamed * N 0 = 54 and that's if I'm not focusing on it and just doing it for side cash.
