| #1cheesy74Oct 13, 2009 15:59:43 | I'm making a 10th-level human necromancer as the main villain for my current campaign. I'm trying to make it so her power is focused in two areas: 1. Giving herself an advantage in her home base (IE Sanctum Spell is a given) 2. Having lots of pets at her disposal. I'm happy to sacrifice personal blasting power for the sake of bolstering, creating, and controlling large amounts of undead. As the DM, and with lots of sourcebooks at my disposal, I can use anything officially-published to make the character, but if you're going to help me optimize her, keep it within sensible limits so I don't have to page through a pile of sourcebooks every round during the climactic battle. Finally, I'd like her to be either a Wizard or Cleric, not a True Necromancer. Any undead-focused prestige classes are perfectly fine. Just looking for ideas here, of course. I'm not asking anyone to just make the character for me. |

Those are not the undead the pc's will expect and if you can let him pick the battles you can even get a huge advantage from fighting in the dark. There are several very good threads about the master of shrouds and a fight with 1 of those will definitely be remembered by your players. |
