Right. I cannot remember if I saw this PrC in the online wizards archives or in one of the books.

I remember seeing a 5 level PrC that was deisgned around being an Incporeal attacker who got bonuses like all their attacks counting as ghost touch when they attack, but incorporeal at all other times.
I think it was called Spectre, or something along those lines.

Anyone know the one that I'm talking about and what book it's in?

www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/lists/... It sounds like Ephemeral Examplar.

Unfortunately not. The one I'm thinking of doesn't require incorporeal subtype. It's more about fighting while ethereal or incorporeal than creating spawn.

Hmm, the Ghost-Faced Killer from complete adventurer, maybe?

The Psion Uncarnate PrC is the only one I know of, but it's 10 levels.

None of the above unfortunately.

It's main abilities were you were basically incorporeal when it would benefit you, and corporeal when it would benefit you. It also gave you a variety of 'ghost touch' where you were incorporeal when attacking, so that your attacks bypassed armor, but corporeal at the moment you hit, so you get your full strength bonus to the hit.

Darn I wish I could remember where I saw it.

Are you thinking of the phantom template from MM5? Incorporeal until you attacked, then you are corporeal. Also add cha as natural armor.

No problem, the only thing weird about that template is the lvl adj and CR. The abilities it grants are really good compared to what you pay for em.

Yes, the abilities are very chunky.
Will work perfectly for my Ninja villain
