| #1widowDec 15, 2008 23:08:42 | I am trying to find a way to designate yourself as an allie for a spell effect. I currently have a bard/sublime chord and want to be included in the bonuses bestowed by Snowsong (more Cha the better). Now there seems to be 3 kinds of spells. Spells like haste that affect a number of target creatures in an area which you can select yourself. Spells like bless that affect you and allies within a certain range. Spells like Snowsong (Frostburn, L6) that affects allies within a certain distance of you, but does not affect yourself. At first I thought maybe a familiar would be useful with it's share spell ability which states "At the master’s option, he may have any spell (but not any spell-like ability) he casts on himself also affect his familiar." Unfortunately the spells in question actually effect an allies in an area centered around you. Therefore, you cannot share the spell with the familiar creating a second area eminating from the familiar selecting you as an allie. The cleric spell Imbue with Spell ability only works on spells of certain types and level. A spell storing ring able to hold a 6th level spell costs an excessive amount of gp (even one that can hold a 5th level spell by ways of sanctium spell metamagic is too much). And spell storing weapons are unable to hold anything above 3rd level. Likewise the SHALANTHA’S DELICATE DISK spell can only hold spells up to 5th level (again short of sanctium spell metamagic). Can anyone think of another means of targeting yourself with an allie spell or having it eminate for a different source? I am not sure that sanctium spell will fly with the DM. Also creating an item to cast the spell for me on another character seems price restrictive as well. |

You are in the area of effect. You are part of everyone. You can designate yourself as an ally (or enemy, if you're a masochist). You can be affected by the spell. |
