hey, was hopeing to get some help sorting out a nice, powerful feat set up for a char i just started playing.

so far, hes a cleric 1 / paladin 1.
his stats are rather nice, with 16 str, 17 wis, and 18 cha.
frankly, if it wasnt for his 6 dex he would be one of the highest statted chars i have ever had a chance to play.
int and con are both average.

anyways, he is a cleric of illmater (FR) and healing based, as per dm requested.
now i need to eck as much power out of this as possible.

so far i have power attack and divine might, and at level 3 (unless i get suggested otherwise) i am taking the strength devotion domain feat from complete champion for the extra attack a round (and because i like smashing things)

what combination of feats work nicely with that much raw charisma? im thinking of taking hospitaler so i can continue with spell casting and high base attack, so quantity of fighting feats wont be an issue. however, my divine feats will be...

any suggestions would be welcomed.

Don't go Paladin. Clerics make stronger builds and can still be "Paladins"

even with the 18 cha? i mean, if nothing else +4 to all saves seems fairly awesome.
i am going for a melee build with 6 dex, so i figure a bit of BAB wont go astray either.
of course, im more than happy to listen to all opinions, or i wouldnt be here

Divine Power makes BAB irrelevant as it gives clerics full BAB.

Pick up Extend spell/persist spell/Divine metamagic persist. Keep power attack, because it's nice.

Persist a mass vigor spell, divine power, and any other combat spell you decide (righteous might or righteous wrath are good choices).

You now heal everyone (fast healing for the win :D) and rock in melee.

Divine Power i admit i forgot about.
mass vigour is a nice one, but im thinking i might get the Sacred Healing from Complete Divine instead: same effect but no spell slot wasted :P

i can see where your going with your suggestions, and dont get me wrong, its nice.
but its a bit different from the feel im aiming for this character.
also, remember im already level 2, and thus have a level of paladin like it or not, and may as well keep going for it :P

ideally i need something i can work towards with what i already have, and that takes advantage of my uber cha.

as of level three, my char standard combat tactic will be to kick in strength devotion feat, and charge in.
second round is full attack with divine might, so 1d8+7 for my longsword (+3 str, +4 cha,) and 1d6+5 (1 (half strength for slam?) +4) for my attack.

i think this is solid damage for a level 3 char, and want to keep a similar style as i progres, gaining more turn based feats.

Say you have +4 Cha. Now you have fast healing for 5 rounds. That's 15 HP to all creatures. Including enemies.

You can do that 7x per day =>105 HP healed

Persist mass lesser vigor, 1 3rd level spell =14,400HP healed in a day. And you can pick not to include enemies.

Your call :P

Keep the paladin level if you'd like, but buffing yourself with DMM persist is probably the best use of turn attempts you can get. If you can't get things like nightsticks/extra turning/reliquary holy symbols, it may not be ideal, but DMM persist clerics = Melee powerhouses that can heal whenever they want.

Once again, its a great build, and one im going to keep in mind.

But it still is not what im aiming for

what im looking for is help optimizing a charachter im already playing, along a certain theme. and im asking advice on how best to do that.
your advice so far has been more or less "scrap what your planning (and, in fact, change a level you have already), do this instead" :P
i assumed my mention of the hospitaler class would have given a bit of a feel of what kind of paladin/cleric this dude was, but sometimes i get exited and forget not everyone can read my mind

i need to optemize a melee specalised divine feat using paladin/cleric who has a high chance of going prestige class to max base attack and get some more cleric casting levels.
i want to exk out as much base attack as possible, with spellcasting secondary.
something like Cleric 2/paladin 3/hospitaler 10/divine champion 5
this of course is just a rough idea, and im looking for advice on min/maxing it.

i appreciate the help dude, but your advice is missing my actual question

paladin 5/cleric 2/fist of raziel 10 and then Church Inquisitor 3

Remember to take charging smite out of PHB2 and the holy warrior variant from comp champ.

1) power attack, 3) servant of the heavens 6) divine might 9)sacred healing 12) sacred vitality and after that its all you. Sacred vitality can be found in libris mortis and offers some nice immunities.

and obvious don't worship Illmater worship Bane, for no other reason than he's Bane

Stop at Paladin 2, whatever you continue with.

Fist of Raziel is awesome, i cant believe i missed it.
but, if i may ask, why church inquisitor? is the ability to see past illusions so valuable, or is it just the easy prereqs?
is this worth the loss of BaB?

Early entry is nice, since cleric has no class features past level1.

With Divine Power (and loads of other self-buffs), BAB loss isn't a huge issue for clerics.
