I was reading the Raptorian's abilities, and read that when a raptorian dives with a piercing weapon, it deals double damage. I was wondering, leap attack says if you move more than 10ft. on your charge, you get double damage on power attack, triple if using a two hander, so if you dive with, say a spear using power attack for -5, this would become +15 damage normaly (+5 damage x 3 for leap attack) would this become +30 damage (in addition to dice, of course)? Also, whats a good piercing weapon I could abuse the crap out of this with? so far, I see either the halberd (martial, trip, slash OR pierce, d10, reach) or Ripper (PlHB, martial d12, pierce). Any other good ones I could stick in?

Leap Attack takes effect if you can jump 10 ft (long jump) as part of your charge, not simply move 10 ft, which any charge requires.

I thought Raptoran's dive attack ability was explicitly if they were diving down at double normal speed (as per the moving in 3-D rules for aerial combat)?  The intent was pretty clearly not meant to be for jumping attacks on the ground, but aerial dive bombs.

Even by RAW, I thought Raptorans had to dive at least 30 ft to gain the double damage?  If you wanted to leap off the ground and drop that far, you'd need a pretty crazy jump check.  A result of 120, to be exact (high jump of 30, DC = 4*height).  If you're going to be extremely technical about things (like using RAW over RAI), you should be required to clear 30 + (height of the enemy you're attacking) feet vertically.

Correct me if I'm remembering any of that wrong, don't have the book with me at the moment.

As for weapons, make sure you get the Impaling property so 3/day you can attack touch AC.  Granted, Heartseeker amulet is cheaper and works for any weapon.  But it takes up the neck slot and is far mroe likely to get banned.  (Both are in MIC)
For the base weapon, if you're willing to spend a feat on it, the dwarven Warpike in Races of Stone is one of the few exotic weapons worth the feat.  Similarly, Spiked Chain is a piercing weapon...

they have to move 30ft. total, but only 10ft. down. Leap attacks jump is 10ft. horizontal, which means you need to move 30ft. I think (10ft. across+10ft. upwards rounds to 20ft, then fall on the enemy, I might've miscalclated that though.) with 30ft. land speed and 40ft. flight speed, you could probably pull it off...and then add maneuvers to make it even more deadly (if I'm right you can add a strike at the end of a charge like this, correct me if I'm wrong.) If so, then I get to be raptor-mario with a pointy stick! fun...

EDIT:, sorry, the total movement for the dive attack has to be 30ft., but only 10ft. of it needs to be going down...hope I'm not afraid of heights...

(if I'm right you can add a strike at the end of a charge like this, correct me if I'm wrong.)

Only the ones that specifically work during a charge. Strikes are usually standard actions themselves, not something that is part of an attack action. You could however get Pounce from the lion totem barbarian dip and make a full attack...
