Apr 14, 2008 9:21:19 DMM Persist has been a long time favorit of any CO Cleric. Now a while ago i set out to make a cleric with persistet spells up the whazuu, but decided to NOT take DMM persist, and try and find another way to sprinkle my cleric with cheese and what not.

Now this build is far from perfect, but is fully playable, and has the side benifit of being able to persist all the non evocation/necro spells you want to "depending on spells memorized ofc".

Human Cloistered Cleric 5 / Mystic Wanderer 10 / Spelldancer 5 (No CL lost)

Feats

1st Iron Will
1st Combat Casting
3rd Dodge
6th Mobility
9th Endurance
12th Extend Spell
15th Persist Spell
18th Open

Now the build is very feat heavy, and would benifit from any domains that grants some of the feats, and the use of flaws.

Some of the abilities you gain that might be of interest are as follows.

The ability to dance a number of rounds to reduce the cost of metamagic feats (persist for example). This fatigues you eventualy and damages your con. Make sure to cast Sheltered Vitality from Libris Mortis, and you will be immune to both.

Cha to AC
Brew Potion (all 0th-3rd arcane spells allso)
A Familiar (sorry but i like familiars on divine casters)
No aging Penelties
Evasion (with a +12 base ref save before anything)
A bunch of spell like abilities (sleep, suggestion, charm monster, mass charm, enthrall, confusion)

Add in a monks belt, and the usual cleric equipment, and you end up with a fun, fairly optimized cleric.

Take Spelldancer 1 before you finish Mystic Wanderer and use Metamagic Storm to grab Persist Spell starting 12th level.

Otyugh's Hole magical location for Iron WIll lowers the levels down to level 9

A flaw or two will lower the requirements even further.

It will cost you 5,000 gp +3,000 gp but that is pitiful for persistent magic 6 levels earlier.

Books are away from me can you do mystic wanderer as an archivist?

Apr 14, 2008 13:14:17 Ahh ya.. level 16 is late. But it was just a build stub for a lvl 20, not a progression.

It was mostly... If it was worth doing it a different way than DMM, or is this shooting myself in the foot.
