| #1boboteabagginsDec 21, 2010 22:12:59 | First I like to thank anyone who helps me optimize this character. I want a nice balance of roleplaying backround with battle effectiveness. Dont we all. These are the standards of the books we are using: Player's Handbook, Monster Manual 1-5, Dungeon Master's Guide, Complete Arcane, Complete Divine, Complete Mage, Complete Warrior, Unearthed Arcana, Spell Compendium, Expanded Psionic's Handbook, Players Handbook II, Cityscape, Dungeonscape,Tome of Battle. I might also get stuff out of Sandstorm and Frostburn. Here is the character: Druid 1 / SwordSage 1 Halfling Chaotic Nuetral Str. 14 Dex. 16 Con. 15 Int. 18 Wis. 18 Cha. 12 I am willing to listen to any build off of these base stats. I was playing with the idea of him being crazy due to the loss of his wife. Thought of maybe doing some kind of throwing squirrel attack. Whatever I'm open to craziness, sillyness, and bad-assness. Have fun and thanks again. |

| #4boboteabagginsDec 22, 2010 19:40:12 | Yeah natural feat is always a given and yes I will be shifting alot. I saw a prestige class in the the BOTN that lets you use claws. My dm is very specific that unarmed damage doesn't apply while shifted. |
| #5KruskDec 23, 2010 9:15:25 | He says you can't have kung-fu bears, or he says your claws deal claw damage not unarmed damage? Kung fu bears is a relatively simpy arguement that has been thoroughly explained in another thread. http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/26167777/Help_with_Frost_Rager_Barbarian_Fist_of_the_Forest Keep in mind that one poster is arguing against it, but that helped to bring out loads of new reasons why kung fu bears are allowed. Even without kung-fu bears, unarmed swordsage is worth it for you for the wis to AC. Druid spells come from wis, so your wis will be huge. You won't wear armor, you are a bear. You will usually gt the wis to AC unless you go out and buy barding. |
| #6boboteabagginsDec 23, 2010 17:24:08 | The great this about sword sage is you can wear armor and get your wisdom bonus as well. So if I had armor with the ability that llows it to morpdh whill in wildshape i would get an armor bonus as well. Now of course it has to be natural armor, but hide works nice. As far as the kung fu bear my DM has ruled on this already and won't allow it. But the tiger stance gives bonues to claws, which bears and tigers have lots of. So if you have any further thoughts would love to hear them. Thanks for the link I'm heading over there right now. Woot! |
| #7meegzDec 26, 2010 9:04:25 | i believe the enhancement property is called 'Wild' for armor that you're referring to, could be mistaken, but thats whats sticking out atm. not sure where i put my books w/ all the x-mas stuff and partying, so i cant grab em and check right now ![]() |
