| #1123456789blaaaJul 13, 2013 7:12:41 | Both of these builds were made by JanusJones on these boards back in the old days. I can't find them by way of the WayBack Machine though. All I know was that The Casio was a warforged and that Oddjob was an evil factotum. Does anyone remember anything else about them? |
| #2awaken_D_M_golemJul 15, 2013 16:04:17 | googling only found 1 reference to Gato / Casio Keyboard and also ony 1 for Oddjob, but not any details or links...."window.parent.tinyMCE.get('post_content').onLoad.dispatch();" contenteditable="true" /> "site:wizards.com janusjones" ... still gets 1000+ results. |
| #3123456789blaaaJul 15, 2013 16:05:53 | I am so sad right now .Hey Tempest and RT, you were around back then right? Do you guys remember anything? |
| #4Tempest_StormwindJul 16, 2013 7:23:33 | I remember hearing *of* Casio but not what it actually was, sorry. I thought it was a Warforged Bard, but that could have been Gato instead (which was a pretty basic singing crusader). For some reason I'm thinking artificer was involved. Odd job, however, I haven't heard of. Knowing JJ it may have involved attacking with your own *head* (inside the hat). There are a few deformity builds that do that, in fact. Both Gato and the deformity builds are here: community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758... |

| #6ChristopherGrovesAug 02, 2013 18:47:41 | Maybe you can ressurrect from the old gleemax links brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.p... |
| #7ChristopherGrovesAug 02, 2013 18:52:27 | And/or gather some of the mechanics from here: brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.p... |
| #8NineInchNallAug 08, 2013 12:10:38 | The Casio keyboard was just a warforged bard/crusader using Words of Creation, a way to be immune to/quickly heal nonlethal damage, and inspire courage bonuses. Add in some Song of the White Raven, Subsonics, and Melodic Casting. You only have the one level of Bard, but since you don't stop singing, like, ever ... |
| #9JanusJonesAug 14, 2013 21:39:41 | ... and Oddjob was a Factotum who worshipped Elder Evils and either re-trained or Embrace/Shunned Chaos to get extra inspiration points, then nova'd them with wands (Whirling Blade to get Int and throw on a Manyfang Dagger for x4 damage). Hey all. Good to be posting. |

I had managed to guess as much from twin threads on multiple other boards but I was still looking for a solid confirmation. Also, a poster on one of those twin threads tried to email you through the email addressed linked in your profile on BG. He didn't get a response. Are you not using that email address anymore? ... and Oddjob was a Factotum who worshipped Elder Evils and either re-trained or Embrace/Shunned Chaos to get extra inspiration points, then nova'd them with wands (Whirling Blade to get Int and throw on a Manyfang Dagger for x4 damage). Fantastic :D. I've actually been looking for you for a while because while I could find some of your builds through the Wayback Machine, others were lost. Where were you? Are you going to start posting on Gitp or the Minmaxboards? |
| #11Slagger_the_ChuulAug 14, 2013 22:59:06 | If they're not around, maybe someone should do a rebuild. |
| #12123456789blaaaAug 14, 2013 23:02:38 | If they're not around, maybe someone should do a rebuild. Look at the 3 posts above yours . |
| #13Slagger_the_ChuulAug 15, 2013 1:30:21 | If they're not around, maybe someone should do a rebuild. I see a lot of the pieces and some discussions (digging a bit with the Wayback Machine), but not an actual build writeup. |

Are you going to start posting on Gitp or the Minmaxboards? I was doing that other thing ... whachacallit, living? Moved cross-coast, had a baby, that sort of thing. Had a little time and started kicking around on here and spotted this. Nice to see I'm still remembered!@Slagger: Not sure about the time necessary for a full build, but the basics are simple ... Casio (quoted from the long-ago thread):
A note, here - if you have the feats, throw on Dragontuched and Dragonfire Inspiration to add tons of dice of damage. One more would get you Draconic Heritage, and let you go sonic for style points. Focused Performance, from Dragon #332, is an excellent choice to slam in there as well. There are also some feats out there that let you stack Inspire Courage effects with various other classes (Cleric, I think, off-hand, and maybe Paladin) which might be worth considering - tons of room to optimize here. As far as equipment, there's the Horn from Complete Adventurer, the Vest from MIC, and a Badge from the MIC, in addition to two spells that boost your bonus (one from SpC and one from Faerun). Oddjob:
Though now, I'd do it a tad differently. Also, if one were to want even MORE feats, there's probably a way to this with Thrall of Demogorgon or another one of those "any feat" granting evil-worshipping classes. |
