so i've decided to play a dragon shaman. i have also picked Dwarf as my race (always wanted to play one). basically i need help (as this is my first dragon shaman) on what kind of feats, skills ,totems that i should pick. the biggest choice would be my alignment as it affects my choice of dragon.

starting out at lvl 1 btw

What books do you have available? What is your party composed of? What kind of role do you want to play in the party? These will determine what kind of build you should aim for.

Dragon Shaman builds tend to either be focused heavily on breath weapons or aura/buffing/healing.

Copper is generally considered one of the best totems for the spider climb and acid line.

well i know one of my party members is a Favoured soul (going to be the healer).
one is going to be a psionic (the rogue like one. i forget the name). another showed an interest in a rogue or a shadow dancer, but he is completely random and wont make up his mind for a while.

i guess i will want to play the main meat shield to begin with or maybe a front line killer.

A dragon shaman is rarely a front line killer or meat shield. They are more suited to the secondary roll, although given your current party composition I suppose you're the closest thing they have to a tank.

Check my handy links (in my sig) for a couple threads discussing the dragon shaman. The healing ones won't do you any good, but the combat oriented ones should suit you. Starting at level 1, there isn't much to do other than poke things with a longspear. Dump Cha and focus on Con. Next would be Str and maybe Int if your totem gives you skills that you want to use, but if you're tanking then you shouldn't be focusing on your mental stats. Focus on using your auras to benefit your party.
