So ... was looking at this for a potential build. I was looking at a cleric of smack w/ lots of natty attacks, etc. and the easy way to snag a tail is the Dragon Tail feat. Once you start down the dragonblood route, I can't help but look at other feats.

I passed this one by ... because really most of the time you PrC out and it's based on cleric level. Sure it can use undead or elemental turnings and half the damage is divine, but still.

Only ... it isn't LIMITED by cleric level.

To paraphrase ... "if your effective cleric level is higher than your actual cleric level, use your effective level".

Um.

Really?

11000 for +4 bonus right there ... http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#phylacteryofUndeadTurning
9000 has an item in Libris Mortis that adds 3 more ...
750 for a flametouched iron holy symbol at +1

So, that's 20k for +8 effective levels. It's a close burst to you (15 feet is weak) but for a feat you can re-train later there seem to be lots of handy ways to get a short term boost.

Tack on to that that we know extra turning increases ALL turning attempts, you can do quite a bit with a cleric having the fire and earth domains.
