I'm trying to play an elven bard and I'm looking for a way to get the dragonblood subtype, since it's a prerequisite for DFI.

I know you can have it from playing a dragonkind (kobold...), a silverbrow human, a sorcerer only feat, the half-dragon template (including dragon disciple 10) and being dragonborn.

But, is there any other way?

Jul 23, 2013 1:54:12 It is hardly ideal, but Dragontouched (in both books that mention the subtype) is unrestricted in terms of who can take it; it isn't just sorcerers. It also unlocks Draconic Heritage, if you want to use one of the better energy types (Battle Dragons are sonic type; pyroclastic dragons use fire or sonic. I mention this because bards have some great sonic control, such as Creaking Cacophony, and synergy is a Good Thing.)

However, this is hard to do as an elf. The race doesn't really lend itself to bard.

Jul 23, 2013 3:02:56 Thanks for the answers, I'll look throught and see, and if it doesn't go with my DM, the sorcerer 1 dip is always usable.

Jul 23, 2013 3:15:35 If you noticed the silverbrow humans from Dragon Magic, did you overlook the forestlord elves from the same section, or is there some reason that you don't want to use them?

Jul 23, 2013 4:15:23 I knew of the silverbrow human from a metamagic reducer build using practical metamagic and didn't know there were elven forestlord. Going to check that asap. Thank you.

They've basically got a dragonblood version of all the standard player races (plus a couple more like drow and hobgoblins) associating them each with a particular kind of dragon.
